the best combination is earth magic+ari magic:D it gains lost of benefits. with fly, dimension door and town portal u can reach every place map in few days, even XXL! implosion, slow, haste, meteorite, chain lightning... makes every batlle easy:D:D water magic is good alternative as third scholl magic, but it depends....
like everything in heroes 3:D and this is reason what I love this game:D:D

Air Magic
If destroy undead does 80 damage(early in the game)and the enemy necromanser has seven stacks, it tickles him with 560damage. That is much for a third level spell?
@Darkangel99: Titan's lightning is a special spell, if you collect Titan's Thunder(combination artifact), you get it. Good links, these pages

Air magic, with Fly, Dimension Door, and Chain Lightning, is probably the most rewarding magic school to get "Expert" in..

View Air can save your bacon on mammoth maps with lots of passages and teleporters, but I don't see the use of Visions at all. It could only be useful at the beginning of the game since approximate number is good enough after that, and at the beginning of the game it's important to save spell points for the battles.
