You got a point there... But to avoid dupliment creature threads how can we do it? So f.ex the new zombie alternative will also get some attention?Sauron wrote:Not that I wanted to break the mood, but shoudn't we have waited for the zombie alternative? Do you know what chaos will be created if he looks uber-cool (hard, but still...)??
As for voting, I am not sure yet. All but the H2 ones look good to me.

If someone has in mind to contact the mods to add the Zombie poll to the stickied "creature evolutions" compilation topic, please remind him that he hasn't added the Ogre evolution yet.
Good luck trying to get your Zombie poll in the topic though. That guy (DaemianLucifer) never answered any of my PMs.

Mutant Zombie for me too, even if I don't like the name much. He looks like an extra from Night of the Living Dead.
There might be a good reason for that, and it has nothing to do with you...That guy (DaemianLucifer) never answered any of my PMs.

Although the mutant zombie was long dear to me I have to say the new plague zombies totally enovated their looks into something more believable. And after long thinking I give them my vote.
Assuming that you guys probably never attended to Legal Medicine or Tanatologie classes, it gets difficult imagining how does a corpse look like (and smells) after some months under ambient temperature and without natural cleansing agents (birds, fishes or other animals who eat their flesh).
The professionals of the area call them the "big rottens", because they stink like nothing else in this world and get bloated to the point of irrecognition. And by bloating I do mean everything (including eyes, which looks awful). Jokes apart, its something that sticks to your memory.
The plague zombies of HOMM5 are very near to the real thing. Thumbs up for the developer.
And to complete the masterpiece they carry a rusty butchers axe, which makes them look even more menacing and infectious.

Of course... they are produced weekly.ThunderTitan wrote:So all the H5 zombies are fresh...
They are exactly like cheese. You have to wait a while until they are precisely as rotten as they should. If you forget and let them rot further you get skeletons instead of zombies, and financially speaking thats not smart (skelies cost 30 gold, plague zombies 65) = A ruined crop.
2 - Necromancers learned that, the more muscle they have left, the more sturdy they are. Go into an anatomy center and see how frail and easy to break are dry bones. Now get a fresh corpse and try breaking its leg (unless you are a professional wrestler you will have trouble there)... (which explains skelies have 4-5 hit points and zombies 17).
3 - Which also makes interesting to have them fresh, is the long-time planning (=long journeys), where they will slowly decay. And you surely dont want to start with zombies to end up with skeletons.
TT, one gotta have a Necromancers soul if theyre to administrate living corpses...

I think that has more to do with the same principle of why it's harder to break 5 sticks of wood put together then one. And dry bones are easy to brake because they are dry, not because they lack muscles.Necromancers learned that, the more muscle they have left, the more sturdy they are.
It's not like there are embalming techniques around...Which also makes interesting to have them fresh, is the long-time planning (=long journeys), where they will slowly decay.

I don't have time to beat you to death, bury the body in the desert and pretend like you never existed.
