Actually, in the French version of Heroes III, that building was called a Slave Market.

If I had to guess, the three campaigns might be wizard, barbarian, and necromancer.

Wizard because of their history with the Orcs, and necromancer because
Players will follow the steps of the Necrolord Arantir as he uncovers the prophecy of the Dark Messiah and exposes the Demon Sovereign’s conspiracy.

Woot! I'm comment 101!

My first thought when seeing the screenshots was "Weird" I can not imagine fighting with a guy with plants on his head, nor can I take the orc warrior (guy in armor I'm guessing is orc) seriously at all. Is is just me or do they look just plain weird and... well weird.

Love the yak though, and the upgrades look great, if.... they work like this.

Basic Dwelling= Non-upgraded troop (like normal Minatour), Advanced Dwelling= option to buy either upgraded creature (new and old), they share the same population like upgraded and non-upgraded creatures. That totally takes out the *he built wrong building* and lets you build them in the castle. And lets face it, Nival is not going to develop new or altered models for H4 type *picking* units.

Oh well. I was kinda hoping it would be like Heroes 3 and they would have magic limited to Level 3.

So, by saying 49 more alternative units which equals 7 factions, I guess it's a definite that the Renegades are Haven's alternative units afterall. Think about this though. Who the hell would choose a Conscript over an Enforcer? The Enforcer has the abilities of both the Peasant and the Conscript combined. If they are going for the "either/or" route and you have to pick one, they better make sure that they both have their pros and cons. Otherwise everyone will always pick the obviously better unit.

Why would they include the new orcish units in those 49 new alternative units? Though it would be kind of weird to have four different haven units for each tier, and ubival has at least shown that they're willing to alter stats if it's necessary.

I would highly doubt that they would give us alternative units for all factions except for the new Barbarians. That wouldn't make much sense and being that this is the last expansion, it's not like they could add it later either.

What i mean is that they're announcing Orcs as a new faction, and then it doesn't make sense to only count seven of those in the "49 new units". If they'd said that there'd be 63 new units (or a few more for neutrals), then we'd known thatg they would have used the renegades as the haven alternate upgrades. The way they've worded it now makes it sound more like those 49 are for the old towns, and then we'll get a new one on top of that.

If the expansion is stand alone, seems like it would render Hammers of Fate unnecessary.

I think he meant that Nival would not say "the expansion adds orc units and 56 new units" when 7 of those are orcs, but rather "orc units and 49 new other units"

Either

the 49 includes the Orc's alternates, and the renegades are Haven's alternates

or

Haven has another set of alternates and the Orcs have also a set of alternates

or

Haven has another set of alternates and the Orcs do not have a set of alternates

What they've sold they've sold-they wouldn't get more money from HoF anyway. Still there is the chance it will be like SoD. Allow dwarves ONLY if you have HoF(like with the conflux) and allow the existing campaigns to appear according to what you already have. It would make sense.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Could be similar to how if you wanted to play as various races in Dark Crusade online, you had to have Dawn of War and Winter Assault. If that was the case, I wouldn't feel so bad about just getting Hammers of Fate.

Well, there are obviously 2 solutions for that:
- Altering the stats
- Price of the unit (of course Enforcer is a bit better, but are you ready to pay double for it?)

There's also a 3rd solution, but a BAAAD one:
- The creatures in the "alternate line" to be co-dependent. Meaning if you choose for Enforcer, you'll be forced to go only with the Renegades from then on up to the Fallen Angel. Of course this will terribly limit the fun, killing our chances of developing the preferate line-up.

I don't think the renegades will be Haven's alternative upgrade. They are like a different faction and I'm sure all upgrades should fit the town's theme, looks and stuff.

The renegades are probably what gave them the idea of an alternative upgrade.

Yeah. It's not like every second fan proposal included this concept.

Knowing Nival, this will be the route they take.
