A New King's Bounty

Nice screenshots on that Fantasy Wars game as well! Would like to see some involving combat, but by the looks of it, it looks really good.

To be perfectly honest, when these games come out, I hope they blow Heroes 5 away so we can say without a doubt, "Here Ubi! Here's a developer that knows how to do the job right."

King Imp - you mean Nival? Because Ubi is just financing and is the publisher, Nival, on the other hand, is the developer.

Yes, I meant Nival as in "Look Ubi, here's a better developer than those incompetants over at Nival."

Cool. As long as it's better than Quest for the ****ing Dragonbone Staff (which shouldn't be hard), I'll check it out.

I've been looking forward to this game ever since someone on the official forums mentioned it. Very strange with the name change though.
I was a bit surprised about the change of name as well. It was clear from the beginning that it drew inspiration from the Heroes world. That hex grid and those nice (friendly looking) Elven/Nature related creatures brought some warm H2-H3 feelings to my heart.
King Imp wrote:Look at the spellbook graphics! Now that's how it's done Nival!
If you remember, a shot of their spellbook was first made public 6 months before the release of H5. I told them that's the way the spell book should be done. But no, 6 months was not enough for a company the size of Ubi to find the resources to fix that (as many were already complaing about that).

I love it. :)

The only thing bothering me in those shots is that huge spider... Hope there aren't too many of them in the game.

Hey, don't complain.

I haven't touched H5 since the day of its release (also) because it had no less than 6 evil alignments (a too depressingly dark universe for my taste).

So please let also others have their fun. :p

The official website is located at http://www.battlelord.ru/ (Hey! it now redirects you to http://www.kingsbounty.ru/)

It is in Russian, unfortunately, but you can still check out a large amount of screenshots and wallpaper, or even use GoogleTranslate to try and make sense of the Russian on the site.

You can download a trailer for the game at this location: http://www.gamershell.com/download_14332.shtml

For Fantasy Wars:
"Taking place in a fantasy world of Human kingdoms, Orc clans, Dwarfs' citadels and Elven forests..."

Humans, Orcs, Elves, Dwarves. A really original line-up with original social organizations within the races, I have to say. I'm pretty fed up with Orcish clans and Elven forest. I mean, how about Elven Kingdoms, Orcish forests, Dwarven Clans and Human Citadels at least, for a change? Or maybe Lizardmen Clans, Giant's Fortresses, Beastmen's forests and Demonic Kingdoms.
Humans, Orcs, Elves and Dwarves. I wonder, how those meetings look like when they decide what kind of races to put into a game.

Something like this: "What, we don't have to pay Tolkien's estate anything.. great, let's use Humans, Orcs, Elves and Dwarves."

The D'oh formula: Dwarves-Orcs-Humans... okay give them an "E" as in Elves for good measure.
Writing this I just realize that the Forest-Fortress-Clan-Kingdom formula is just a "u" for an "f" away from saying it all. But nothing easier than that: How about Forest-UNDERGROUND (or Underworld)-Clan-Kingdom?

According to the message at the top of the game's official site (http://www.kingsbounty.ru/), 'King's Bounty' is a registred trademark of the 1C company, so there will likely not be any legal problems.

Usual marketing trailer....fast, abstract and shows cool stuff (proved by the elemental that transformed into a sword at the end).

I would have preferred a full battle where we can see what's happening. I'll need a demo to judge this properly (wonder when it will come).

I hope this game will bring fortune to the fans when it comes to enjoyment, just as good ol' Kings Bounty from NWC did :)

i enjoyed the orcish archers in kings bounty, but thats a really bad choice to only include the boring races.

lizardmen, undead, minotaurs - controlling them would be fun. but nay, lets stay dull and keep our imagination unused.
