Maahir's Gambit...

Unread postby Jay » 28 Mar 2007, 14:39

Okay, a little strategy help here please.

Love the Maahir's Gambit storyline, but there's a problem when playing the map. I beat the snot out of Zoltan, get the staff and crown of Sar-Issus, take over their Inferno border town and then all of the sudden the A.I. gets mad and throws this Instant-Traveling pinhead at me armed with 80 Titans, 40 Shadow Dragons and over 2,500 skeleton archers. How on God's green Earth has anyone been able to beat this guy? Any tips and/ or suggestions would be appreciated... :S

The stragety guide said speed was important to keep the enemy from building an army, so I went as fast as I could. I also cheated and gave myself a small army to start with until I bullt the city and gained some creature generators.

Maahir plowed the road with the largest army I could keep him with. Behind him was several heroes that I used for building a larger army and collecting resources. They ran to every creature generator and then dumped them in Maahirs army when he ran short.

I saved before most battles and if I lost the battle or won badly I got more creatures and fought it again. If the win wasn't worth the damage to my army, I reloaded the game and went on without the battle.

Maahir didn't clear the subterranean area. At the first "Y", he went north and found the stairs up. I had another hero that did nothing but clear the subterranean area which saved a huge amount of time in the game.

Once Maahir hit the second Inferno town. I pulled all my other heroes from academy and haven lands to reach Maahir as fast as they could as the map was just too big to continure without the armies they carried.

I never got hit with the army you described.

Good Luck.
