Im sure you all know of speedruns by now, and if not, a speedrun is one run through a game aiming to beat it in the least amount of time as possible.

There's a list of most of the speedruns done...
So I was thinking, would any of you actually like the idea of one of these games speedrunned? It's pretty fun all sitting in a thread talking about the best possible, fastest route, working together to find shortcuts and stuff. So if anyone is up for it voice your opinion here.
Out of MM6-8 I would think 8's the most viable because you are able to get 2 lvl 50's a lvl 15 spell loaded necromancer, and a dragon(A GODDAMN DRAGON!!) very early in the game, i mean cmon, how easy can it get..
Just give all the horshoes to the dragon and pump the dragon ability. Quick master of water for portal and the lvl 50 knight and darkelf would just sit there with heavy damage and a lot of health. The problem would be finding a decent healer, but I guess the one at the beggening would do.
So yeah, what do you guys think... it's good stuff cmon
Anyone ever thought of a speedrun for one of these games?

MM6 and MM8 would be the least interesting.
MM8 for the reasons you already mentioned, and MM6 because it's been done countless times already, with the CSSS party, involving the NWC shrine teleport, rushing to get master water, and all known cheeses. ("Lloyding" from towns and dungeons ad infinitum)
MM7 would be the most interesting one, by far. I think going dark would probably be the fastest due to it heavily favoring the CSSS party, so a speedrun record for both separate sides would be required.

I’ve thought about a speed run, but I think what I’d rather do is the minimal-kills run that was in the RTO Contest. More my style and it sounds like fun.
I’ve also heard of a “Peasant” game (starting with no skills, equipment, or gold), but I believe that requires an editor to do. There was also soloing, which requires killing off 3/4ths of the party in any game but MM8.
And actually wouldn’t 8 be somewhat harder than the other two for a minimal time run? Because you can’t load the game until you get a Town Portaling NPC Hireling right away.

Some other options to have a harder game:
[1] Solo game - play with 1 character
[2] Peasant game - start with all stats at zero, no starting equipment items.
[3] Finish the game on level 1
[4] Now mix this as you wish - in MM8 I've done also a minotaur and troll solo peasant game, finishing on level 1, however that was nothing to compare with the exact solo in MM6, playing with one knight. Hard as hell but it was fun to think of solutions that I'd never use.
Talking about speedgames, MM6 record is five ingame days, MM7- 4 months and 11 days, not sure about MM8.

Me too! Since I love Might & Magic soooooooo much, I try to make the games last as long as possible (without getting ridiculous ). Score isn't anywhere as important as enjoying my game. That goes for Heroes games too.Lord13 wrote:I never understant speedruns...they are so...useless
I always prefer to play my games as slow as I can to
enjoy them, but If some ppl of you have the patience
to do one on a MnM game I suggest MnM 8 because is
the easiest one for this.
