It can't be worse than the Stun...whatchamacallit EX that Atsuma gets before Dr. Kou. It hurts A LOT but costs 55EX, hits only ONE square, and as of now is only dealing about 600-something damage.

I see...

And to think my favorite element is Water.

Why does the human representative of Water have to be a snobby, irritating royal family woman?

If I were Atsuma, I would've smacked her a long time ago, ignoring the obvious fact that you shouldn't hit a lady :D.

Then you would have been cut down by Raigar and that would be much worse than hearing Karin nag... well almost.

Darn...good point. Didn't think of that.

But then again, no one can truly defeat Atsuma when he goes berserk. 2700+ damage!

But that would be a bloody mess. That and having to beat the game with Atsuma and 3 golems might get boring :D.

I'm up to 51%!

I'm at Junk City ready to go out to the desert to get to Kyoto City.

Mega Phoenix IS disappointing (on the bright side, it is a decent damage boost, and it still costs 30 EX).

Did I mention how TOUGH the Emperor of Fire is? :)
I'm glad though; I was starting to think I wouldn't be challenged in this game... :D

The Mystery Man is definitely Makoto (how else could he know how Makoto would feel in response to something?)

I thought the Emperor of Fire was pretty easy.

The fights do get a little more challanging later on. One boss has an ultra-cheap ex attack that knocks everybody down to 1 hp. They also counter every weak attack you hit them with, which really sucks.

My progress remains hindered due to disc-drive problems. Hopefully I'll be able to get it taken care of shortly.

Oh, and the PS3 version of the game got shredded by GameBrink, receiving a beautiful 24% rating.

8| I see...

I'm at 66%. Just got into the Ascetic Court to see if Atsuma can learn the "secret art".

That samurai girl was pretty annoying with that Dream EX skill...

At least the boss battles are getting more interesting :D!

Yeah, that's where I am, so please don't give me any spoilers Fate. I probably won't be able to play my 360 for a couple of weeks. It's real rough life. ;)

Sure thing, Omega!

So you sent your Xbox360 to be fixed?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm 76% through the game. Like I promised, no spoilers...well, there is one, because otherwise that particular fight'll get nasty:

You will get a new EX for Atsuma soon. It costs 100 EX. You will need to use this ASAP for a certain boss (the battle music for that boss sounds different from normal boss music; you'll see what I mean when you get there ;)).

Battle dialogue will explain why you need to use the EX around turn 3 or 4, but why suffer the grief for those 2-3 turns? :D

So, there you go! And may your Xbox360 return to you quickly! ;)

Thanks for the tip. I was able to play quite a bit yesterday and I'm up to about 78%. I decided to veer from the main path and start hunting down the God Orbs, which are found in the various temples. I started with the fire temple, where you get caught off guard almost all the time. And to make matters worse, the fire guardian can eliminate Karin from the fight entirely with one attack.

Anyways, today is the day I ship my 360 off, so it'll be awhile before I have anything to talk about.

I will say I am happy to have some rpgs on the 360. I was always envious of the PS2 for getting all of the rpgs during the last generation. Now I am looking forward to Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and Lost Odyssey.

You're welcome!

I take it the Lord of Earth was easy to beat after that? ;)
(Kind of a shame to beat him, World Creation looks awesome! :D)

Oh, I actually beat the the Lord of Earth before I got your message. The game is pretty bad at spoon feeding you the weaknesses of your enemies. I think up to the point where I am now (In 360 less-ness :( ) the hardest fight was Oborro. Mainly because I ended up getting nailed with combo after combo after combo.

Indeed!

That's why I hit him with World Creation turn one with Raigar :D.

After that, he switches into his usual "make two clones" mode, and it was just a matter of time. I had to heal and revive though...the Lord of Earth was actually easier, IMO, if perhaps more tedious...

The repair center received my 360, so it should just be a matter of time before I get it back. Good thing I have Titan Quest and law to keep me occupied in the mean time.

Don't give me any spoilers or anything, but have you managed to beat the game yet Fate?

Four pages and you two are the only posters, maybe you should get a room. ;) Seriously what type of combat system does it use real time, turn based or something else?

It's a turn-based grid system. You attack first, then the enemy. Attacks hit a variety of places on the opposing grid. You can build up combo attacks and Ex skills, which do quite a bit of damage. The combo attacks are pretty sweet because it cuts to a manga-esque shot of the group before the attack commences.

You also can employ dozens of different golems to aid you in your battles. Each one possesses a unique set of skills and grid space, which makes for some interesting fights.

What Omega said :D.

@Omega: I'm at 92%, tackling the game's only true side-quest (the Holy Beast Shrine). After that, it'll be time for the final stage :D.

P.S: The Holy Beast Shrine is after Junk City's Rock Pinnacles (it's an alternate exit). You need to have the four shrine orbs though to enter...
