Multiplayer LAN game

Hello, I can't get a multiplayer LAN game to work, I cannot see the other player in the list, and although my computer can see the other computer through windows, I cannot get it to work, any ideas?

You're using a VPN tunnel?

Got the same version? v.x.xx f.e. Then there's firewalls....disable your firewall or configure it correctly. If someone of the two of you got a router then you got a hardware firewall and that's trickier.
