H3 "Spoils of War" campaign crash

I'm having a problem playing Heroes 3 Complete. After beating the first 2 campaigns (Long Live the Queen and Dungeons and Devils) when I try to play the 3rd campaign, Spoils of War, the game always crashes.

It doesn't matter which of the two missions I choose to begin with or what starting bonus... I've tried them all. It also doesn't matter whether or not I go straight into the campaign as a new campaign or as a continuation of my progress with the first 2. It just crashes to desktop after I select my starting bonus and try to start the map.

Interestingly, the /Mac/ version of Heroes 3 Complete had a bug which was a lot like this, involving not being able to play the Spoils of War campaign, and they released a patch for it... but I'm playing the PC version. Anyone know what could be causing a crash here? If I can't play Spoils of War, I can't continue the Restoration of Erathia campaign, and I'd hate to think that I brought down General Kendal in D&D3 for nothing.

You had got me I don't know what may be the problem. What with Spoils of War opening scenario? This one is ok? If that so you may try to replay from here.

Nope... there's no way to 'replay' anything. The game crashes when I try to start /any map/ in the Spoils of War campaign. Even if I just go straight into the campaign selector from the main screen and choose Spoils of War, it crashes when I try to start a map.

Is there, perhaps, any other bug which causes a crash when entering a map? I'm not the only one with this problem... someone else reported the same crash, same campaign, a while ago, but they were never really answered.
