You can do it. Ugly men are much less shocking than ugly women.

How would that be gay? I'd have been all "Go playa-playa" and sht then. Thank Jebus i'm getting drunk tonight.

No, she was to look good for that. And i need to reinstate my May contain sarcasm! sig.

Just because I am very bored (and also it may be the medicine), while I wait for the party to get under way I am going to mimic winterfate and kalah's 'news' parody attempts. This time, instead of HoMM, however, I am going to do it about a current topic that seems to be endless. Remember, this is satire, and not to be taken seriously. (I can not stress this enough, it is a poor attempt at comedy)

Senior Analyst: Today we have brought together some of the formost authorities on Evolution and Creationalism. On Evolutions side is Darwin and somebody that goes by Lucifer. On Creationalism's side we have god, and ...huh..some guy named Lucifer. Wait, he can't be on both sides...oh wait I guess he can. Lets go now to the interviewer.

Interviewer : We are standing here at the first Annual Evolution VS Creationalism debate where some of the formost authorities on both sides have gathered to finally directly confront each other. Lets start with Evolution..hey wait am I seeing double. One guy seems to be on both sides at the same time...

Lucifer 1: No, no we are totally different. I want people to believe in themselves, he wants to rule everything.
Interviewer : Oh, ok, I guess that makes sense. Now Darwin, you believe that mankind evolved from monkey's, and that god does not exsist. Can you tell us why you believe this.
Darwin : The two species have many traits in common and thanks to DNA and carbon dating we can conclusively say there is a relation between the two.
Lucifer 2: yeah, I always told the big guy here you were all abunch of apes...
God : Behave, they are my favorite creation you know.
Darwin : If you did exsist why would you allow pain and suffering to exsist
Lucifer 1: yeah, just make them mindless drones and then you wouldn't have to worry about them!
God : I ...
Lucifer 2: Hahaha man I really did a number with that one...*whipes away a tear*, oh I mean, yeah why didn't you?
Interviewer : we are here to argue Evolution and Creationalism, not this, lets get back to the interview.
Darwin : Lets. Carbon dating and DNA conclusively prove that man decended from apes, and the bible is incorrect. Therefore god does not exsist, and creationalism is not science.
Lucifer 1 : Amen! I mean you are logically correct in that. Send god packing, he has done nothing for you.
Darwin : The earth is billions of years old, and all evidence supports that. If god exsisted, and made the bible, then how could it get that wrong? There is no way to prove his exsistance, so evolution is the only possible answer.
Interviewer : Isn't it true that evolution can not be recreated yet, at least not to get humanoid life?
Darwin : Well, not yet...
Lucifer 2 : Well maybe you just haven't yet come up with a way to test for us. Ever think of that?
Darwin : That is proposterous, we can only test for something real!
Lucifer 2: So we are not real because you can not test for us, but you can not test for us because we are not real.
Darwin : That is not...
*suddenly Darwin is a monkey*
Interviewer and God at the same time : Lucifer stop that!!
Lucifer 2: well he said he was a monkey, I was just proving him correct...
*Darwin is transformed back*
God : Hey listen, I don't want it known beyond all questions that I exsist. I want humans to make up their own mind. So they want to believe in Evolution, I say let em and more power too them.
Interviewer : but you have taken steps before according to your book. Destroyed most of the world once even...
God : *gulps* yeah, um sorry about that. I was having a really bad Millenium. Hey I even made a promise it wouldn't happen that way again...
Interviewer : Not that it wouldn't happen, just not that way..
God : Well um yeah. Dang I knew this was going to go this way...
Lucifer 1 : Don't listen to a word he says, can't be trusted. Sodom, Babalon, tower of babel. He hasn't the best track record you know. If he was truely loving and forgiving would not have happened. Boot him I say, you don't need him.
Darwin : He doesn't exsist, and neither do you either of you lucifers!
Lucifer 1 : Hey I am on your side!
Lucifer 2: Hey if it wasn't for the big guy I'd show you who didn't exsist!
Interviewer : Well this is getting out of hand, and I don't think this debate will ever actually happen. One side turns the other to chimps and the other side refuses to acknowledge the other exsists at all. So this has been the first Evolution vs Creationalism Debate..stay tuned for further details as they come about.

Hum, my mother resembles Barbara up there.

And chicks were very common on the Carnival this year. The real good ones are called "rainha da bateira" of the Samba Schools, the women that leads the orchestra of each of the schools. In general, it's a very beautiful woman that KNOWS how to dance samba. A way different from beautiful woman who KNOWS NOT how to dance, and just step on ants thinking likewise.

I have a random thought. Why don't we just close any thread around here that is active? :creative:

Don't worry Corribus. It's just a matter of time before another thread sparks heated debate.

Are you thinking about the Hell thread?
Was there anything that was not yet said in that thread?

I wonder why the hell the hell thread has been closed just when it seemed to lapse anyway.
Not to mention that I was just writing an answer to
a) gravy, stating he forgot Veldrynus who, if nothing else (joke, joke), did at least start the thread and would have deserved to be in - a gap which I had intended to fill and
b) to Corribus intending to agree with him for a change.

It seemed to calm down and to my great pleasure it happened spontaneously, only thanks to the intelligence of the debaters. It sounded like a good moment for closure to prevent some smartbuttie to fire it again.

If Gravy admits his indeed terrrible mistake, I would happily edit the correction into his post. As for you agreeing with Corribus... I am suspecting that you say it so just to make me feel bad for the closure. :-D

The point being: about 95% of the threads around here really have very little substance, AND are just people just saying the same thing over and over again. I mean, look at the weather thread. :| We are all here for entertainment. So what if we are saying the same thing over and over again? If it is enjoyable to flex our minds a bit, then what is the harm? Everyone was being for the most part civil. There was no name calling. Very few personal attacks. I don't see what the problem was. If nothing else, it livened the place up a bit.

I guess I'll go back to reading about the weather. :bored:

Strangely enough I'm really enjoying to wholeheartedly agree with Corribus once AGAIN. The thread had some depth and was a lot of fun. It covered a lot of ground and it wasn't trivial. I fail to see a reason to close it. I mean, Pitsu, what do you expect of a "good" thread? That people start every post with, "I agree with everything that was said so far"?

And for the record, let me state that the perception that the thread was going in circles was really only partly true anyway. Point in case, in just the last page of the thread, JJ, GC and I were discussing an aspect of the infinite nature of time. I won't belabor the details, but suffice it to say that GC and I were of the opinion that if the universe had an origin, then there could be a point along the timeline before creation occured. JJ maintained that that was not correct, and that if the universe was "born", then time was born along with it, and so all of time occurs after creation, so there's really no difference, from the perspective of time, between the two scenarios. now, granted, it took about 10 iterations for me to understand what JJ was really saying. And I'm still not sure I agree with it. Key words being "not sure". It is an interesting paradox and I had never looked at the problem like that before. So, all you nay-sayers - you are wrong. The thread was not worthless. I learned something. So :tonguehands: .

Of course even if the thread was reopened at this point, it would be partially spoiled. It would feel like an obligation now. *sigh* Well, it was a pleasure discussing the topic with you all, even if I didn't agree with everything some of you said. It's important to have such dialogues with other people, for comments that you disagree with put your own thoughts in perspective. Your opinions are only relevant within the framework of other opinions. A shame it all had to end prematurely. :(

For the record, let me add that I think, too, that theories pertaining to religion should be kept to the religion classes, while scientific things should be kept to science classes - with one notable exception: I see a pretty direct connection between philosophy, religion and physics, but it seems to me that philosophy is the correct neutral ground to cover that one.
After all and if nothing else you don't want children being kept off the science classes "for religious reasons".

Well, another name was added to my list...

Before anyone starts to wonder, whether it is a bad or a good list, I want to clarify things:

IT IS A BAD LIST!!! :flame:

You're going down, gravy! You're going dauuuwn!!!

Ok, I was just kidding, man. You're ok...

... it would be wise of you, to watch your steps in the future. Just in case, you know. Bad things happen everyday... One day you're happy, enjoying your life, and on the next day, you end up bitten by some venomous snakes...
Veldryn 15:15 And Vel found a dirty old jawbone of a walrus and put forth his hand, and took it, and in his unholy rage, he slew thirty four thousand men and children therewith.
