:oex: Can I write for RTW?

I think it'd be cool to interview a necromancer from 2.1 to see what he/she/it thinks about the Dark Energy concept. :D

Then again, I'm still at 2.0... :(

Well, why don't you try it out then? Writing, I mean. Other anchors may be spread all over as well, although the matrix will be always at Kalah's place. :D

Well, I'll give it a shot (in any case, a mod could just delete the post if he/she considers it appropiate).

*Takes a deep breath*:

Hello to all here at the Round Table. This is winterfate signing in to do a freelance report on the Hammers of Fate 2.1 Dark Energy concept for the necromancers.

So, here I go (have mercy on my first interview readers :D):

I have found a necromancer about a day's distance from his Necropolis. Let's talk to him, shall we?

winterfate: Hello!
Necromancer: Good day. What brings you to this bleak and desolate piece of swamp?

winterfate: Well, I was hoping to get your thoughts on the new Dark Energy concept released in the new patch for HoF.
Necromancer: You do realize I'm not supposed to know about the patches and stuff. I'm an ingame character...

winterfate: Right...yet you do know about the change...right?
Necromancer: Of course. One day I was raising Skeleton Archers...all of a sudden, I raised a Lich.

winterfate: That must've been a surprise.
Necromancer: Indeed. At first I thought something was wrong with my skill set...

winterfate: Hold on. Your skill set?
Necromancer: Don't tell me you don't have the newest patch...

winterfate: Um...well...uh...
Necromancer: :disagree: Well, it works like this. Nival changed the Skeleton Archer ability with the Mark of the Necromancer. That Archer ability is no longer needed. But, that was actually the result of the insane overhaul by the programmers for the Dark Energy.

winterfate: Oh, ok. So, how's the change been working out for you?
Necromancer: Ok, I guess. I miss the pre 2.1 days of 3K skeleton archers though...

winterfate: So do I.
Necromancer: You don't have the patch though...

winterfate: Well, I'm downloading it now...
Necromancer: It's over 120 MBs in size. Are you sure your 56.6K connection can take it?

winterfate: Not really...
Necromancer: My master's turn is about to start, you should leave. I see you have a grand total of 7 Hunters with you. You wouldn't want me to attack you, now would you?

winterfate: Um...good point. Thanks for the interview!
Necromancer: Anytime.

This is winterfate signing out. With any luck, I'll be back for more at another time. Until then, take care!

You'll have to buy one then, Lety. In fact, even in Brazil computers are getting cheaper rather fast. Not only just to play games, but for overall use. You won't need to upgrade it for a fair while.

What list? There's a list? Am I on this list? Oh, no, no... I don't like nebulous lists, especially those kept by "They Who Wield Bats". :S

Indeed...what's the list?

It's making me fidgety!!!

I hope it's not bad...did I break some ancient rule of conduct? :S

Psst.. Yeah, well he's actually not that scary. But... we all pretend he is, because if we don't, he gets really mopey. It's pathetic. Kind of insecure if you know what I mean. So... in that vein....

Well, it seems I'm on Kalah's list (I hope that's a good thing :D).
In any case, here's another interview (because I'm kind of bored).

I got 2.1 installed today and started playing a map with the new Necromancy concept. Let's see what the Necromancer has to say about that...

I reach the same Necropolis from the previous interview. This time, it is under attack by Haven troops:

winterfate: Anybody home?
Necromancer: Um...winterfate? Don't you think this is NOT the time?!

winterfate: Sorry, I just wanted to know what you thought about the Dark Energy...
Necromancer: Didn't I already tell you?

winterfate: Well, I...
*catapult breaks down the castle gate*
Necromancer: You installed the patch I assume?
Necromancer: Wait a second... *orders Archliches to attack the opposing hero's Marksmen, killing them*

winterfate: Well, yes...
Necromancer: What do YOU think about the Dark Energy concept?

winterfate: Hey, this is MY interview! But...frankly, to answer your question, I find it's convoluted...
Necromancer: Well, it could be worse...look at that army full of Peasants. Poor guy couldn't train any of them into Marksmen.

winterfate: Um, can't you just march your troops outside of the castle and defeat that army...it's just a bunch of Peasants...
Necromancer: Where's the fun in that? I have to stretch this out...

winterfate: Okay...I'll just wait here with my retinue of Master Hunters and watch you stretch this out...50 gold says you can't raise any troops.
Necromancer: Unlike YOU, I actually understand the DE concept.

winterfate: Bah, I've got my Master Hunters. Who needs Necromancy?
Necromancer: *casts Curse of the Netherworld; Master Hunters fall dead* Correction, you HAD your Master Hunters.

winterfate: Shouldn't you be...
Necromancer: Killing the peasants...um...take a look...they're already dead...

winterfate: *Gulp!* Um...ugh...
Necromancer: Now that the siege is lifted, I can tell you that the DE concept works well as you get stronger...AND that you should leave because you have a bounty on your head.

winterfate: Wha...what?
Necromancer: My master doesn't appreciate your incursions into his territory.

winterfate: Incursions? These are interviews...
Necromancer: Tell that to the Bone Dragons flying over here, as we speak...

winterfate: No, thank you! *casts Town Portal*

Uff...that was close! I'll never be going back there...thank you very much!

So, basically, DE works better late-game...but it stinks early-game.

This is winterfate signing out. In my next interview, I'll be talking to a non-Campaign Knight we all know (and some love) about the Training rules 2.1 change. Until then, take care!

*looks arround carefully, and not seeing Kalah puffs up her chest and states* Kalah isn't so scary, he's a big push over. Doesn't scare me one bit..*looks arround again nervously*. Nope...not one bit. *scampers off to hide before Kalah comes back. :D

Is this a challenge? I expect more from Kalah, I wouldn't want him to take a secondary role! Not without a tough fight anyway!
