whats the deal with summoning?
i was campaign "the expansion"
and i was exploring with raelag and that other hero who shows up after you take your first castle and ferrying creatures back and forth with other heroes to them and i had an opportunity to take a castle as the hero with a HUGE army left it to flag a mine i had taken from him but left a academy hero with a much smaller army, but one i couldn't take with the creatures i had (read: AI made another stupid move and left its castle undefended with me close enough to take it)

deep breaths.. okay
uh.. so i cast summon creatures to get the creatures from my towns garrison. no dice. i drag and drop creatures but they won't come to me, and i had full movement.
Random "minor" artifact as a bonus, not so minor!

It is very nice for the Academy as well. In fact playing as the academy , it is my prefered artifact.
