Here's a random thought for you. I just opened up a can of peanuts to eat, and there was written on the label "This product may contain peanuts." As if that wasn't enough, further down the label it says that "This product was manufactured in a facility that processes peanuts."

Go figure. Peanuts containing peanuts.

That's for liability purposes because people really are that stupid.

Yup.

That reminds me of something I read once about a mother suing a boomerang manufacturing company because her son hit himself when the boomerang returned to him after having thrown it. Apparently, the boomerang didn't have a warning saying it could...

If it doesn't return, it'd be a stick...

That's nothing. We had a case where a guy sued a company that made above-ground pools because he ended up paralyzed after diving into one. Of course, he dove into the pool from the roof of his house.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Or how about the case where a thief sued a homeowner because he got stuck in the chimney? Now that is just silly. (Could be a case of urban myth however).

What you didn't get is that they were making sure that if the can contained something else then peanuts they'd be safe...

I'd have been a little more disturbed if it had read "This product may NOT contain peanuts."

I'm glad I live in Sweden and don't have to deal with morons that need 'do not dry your little fluffy cat (or baby) in the micro wave oven' labels...

Yes. That's an urban myth.

I don't know why, but listening to jazz always makes me wish I had an Asimov book at hand. Too bad they're all back home! :(

Got a B in Federal Admin. Now I just need one more grade to see if I'm still in school. Only 7 weeks since I've had finals and I only have one grade that isn't in yet. It's some kind of record!

I like the warning for the Batman Halloween costume: "Cape does not allow wearer to fly."

(For that, I suppose you need the Superman costume.)

Pressy Bush did the "State of the Union" Address last night. Look for "Bush-isms" all over the net in the next couple of days.
