Since I could not make up my mind, used a d4 to choose randomly..H5 won. Dragons rule, but I think gold dragon > then them all *grins*. Seriously though I wish they would use the classic colors for the good/bad/neutral thing. Green should be as evil as black :).

Voted H2 of course!

They rule the battlefield, and I love the sound effect when they get hit; it's like a growl that says 'you dare to hit me'

One more vote for H2 and it's a tie!

Voted for Heroes III Black Dragon. The beast has the fierce looks of a Great Wyrm, looks strong enough to actually destroy entire enemy units and last but not least its wings seem to be made for flying and not just decorative purposes. And look at the talons! The Blackie is one mean flying T-Rex!
Don't worry if things are going badly today. They will be much worse tomorrow.

Well, I like the black dragons in H3, maybe because it was the first dragon I saw when I started to play HoMM series. But I have to say that this was a difficult choise between H3 and H2.

Heroes 5 was the better, imho, for not a reasonable matter. Heroes 4 is just like a bulldog staring strangely to anywhere - a black bulldog.

H3 was soft, too soft - like the attack would do good than harm. Heroes 2 was sorta nice, though the attack seemed more to push than to burn enemies. :D

Considering the dates that the games were made I think H2 wins this easily with an honorable mention going to H3.

H5 doesn't appeal to me and I don't see enough difference [in game] between H2 to H4 for any other dragon to win ....

Go H2!!

H2
They look grandoise enough to me. Worthy to be "The most powerful monster of Enroth"

See the dragon around 17 seconds in this trailer? Probably the best-looking dragon I've seen in my life. It's essentially the Heroes 2 black dragon but with some differences from the one in-game.

Whoever originally drew the creatures for Heroes 2, wow! Skills so praiseworthy!

The one from 5 looks retarded to me.
Actually most of all the animations from H 5 & 6 look retarded and a bit exaggerated. I don't like that type of artwork.

As for which of the other 3 I like, I'm torn between the 3.
The H2 one does have that honorable and royal look to it which is awesome, and the H4 is good to and has that evil look.
The H3 one is almost like a cross between these 2 looks, so I voted for that.

I always feel the H2 black dragon is the most iconic of them all.

They should fire the entire art department.

And while they are at it, they should also scrap the whole Ashan setting.
And with the passing of strange eons, even death may die.
