They were mostly the kids presents and a few little things for my wife and me.

As of now, all I've gotten is Hammers of Fate and some perfume (maybe I'll buy some PS2 or XBOX360 game later on, but what I'm looking for is Culdcept...a PS2 game that's a weird mix of Monopoly and Magic the gathering...supposed to be fun though :) ).

Thanks. Too bad I'm off the "extended-family gift list" as I call it. You see, since I'm an adult, I don't get gifts from my extended family (well, the perfume was from my aunt...but she always gives me something for Christmas...she's a good person :) ). I don't take it personally though, as my extended family is huge (wouldn't want my aunts and uncles to go broke!).

Life can be so hard on adults! :D I guess we'll have to live with it!

Somedays, I WISH I were off the 'extended family list'. :S This year, I got a truely ugly jewelry box from an uncle (we got him a jacket) and candle holders from an aunt (we got her an 'Elvis' teddy bear). We honestly do make an effort to buy something different for each of these relatives. They buy a dozen of the same item and give them to all the nieces or nephews (the guys got watches). I need to have a big yard sale for all the 'Oh, gee thanks. You shouldn't have' gifts that have collected around the house.

Did you play the record yet, Lety? Yeah, yeah, I know the bugger can't sing, but neither can Mark Knopfler... It's the guitar that counts. ;)

Not only am I off the extended family list, for the most part I am off the immediate family gift list. To explain, my immediate family (brothers, sisters, mother, and father) consists of 16 people including myself (I have 13 brothers and sisters). I get presents from 1 brother, my mother, and recently my father (trust me that is huge :)). Being the 'black' sheep, and living an..alternate lifestyle means that most of the time family wise you are out in the cold. Now my cousin does get me presents, but that is another matter for a different time. Most of my presents come from my female friends who for the most part are my ex's (deffinately another matter never to be discussed in public) or people I have helped in the past. Still, I usually can not find a place for all the gifts I do recieve. This year the count was 35 presents, I bought 4..when I try to give gifts to the other 21 they get mad (sometimes even insulted) so I quit trying to give them gifts. A lot come from people who affectionately call me Mama (I will explain this in the random thoughts section). Heck even some of my co-workers call me that cause I am one of the few who actually give a darn about their life.

I've found that FOOD is a great gift for those 'extra' people. Of course, I also KILL myself baking cookies every Christmas. And this year - just when I thought I was about finished in the kitchen and ready to start delivering stuff - my son fixed up TWENTY SIX bags of cookies to take to his school friends! I had to start over from square one again. *sigh*

(I went through about 30 pounds of flour this year!)

Ah yes food, I am not the best of cooks (except certain things) but I have had things made (catering) and bought my share of food. I like to make sure people are well fed. So my gifts tend to be poems, short stories, and the like (something I am much better at then cooking). Trust me better to not give them food posioning for Christmas.

Sad.I wish people could get over such petty stuff and realise that it doesn't matter as you are still kin and care for them.No matter the reason you are singled out,one would think people would be more open minded at this era. That as they follow their road you follow yours.

You still have us! ;) I don't agree with what your family did at all, but I know that you can get through it! You're a good person...and in the end, that's all that matters. ;)
