question 1: Will the NDA be loosened when the 'open' beta is released? I won't pay for it but if the NDA gets less tight we could get some info from the beta players.
question 2: How is the balance in the game? is any faction superior?
question 3: how about upgrades? are they always worth it? is the archer->marksman upgrade a hard choice?(you lose the area attack thing)
if the NDA will be as tight then question 2 and 3 can be ignored. if not (we'll see in half an hour or so) can someone in the beta answer these questions?
if anyone else has any you can use my topic as well but seeing how well this site is managed I guess an official ask and reply-topic will be put up.

The closed beta NDA says that we are not allowed to discuss anything that has not been made public -- so we cannot answer questions 2 and 3. Fortunately, everyone will be more or less on the same level once the open beta begins. You will quickly find out which faction is the most powerful and how useful upgrades can be.

yeah that's what I thought. I just made this topic pre-emptive so it would be alive and kicking once the open beta starts. I figured some closed beta players would lurk around these forums by that time and would stumble upon my topic and I'd immediately get answers.Angelspit wrote:The closed beta NDA says that we are not allowed to discuss anything that has not been made public -- so we cannot answer questions 2 and 3. the plan isn't as sinister as it sounds ;D. I'm just deadly curious and unfortunately I don't have a credit card so paying for the open beta seems to big a hassle for me.

Could not have said it better myself. Anyone else think this is a PR move -- as in Gamespy's 'pretty people' get the first rights to H5 in exchange, for say, a positive review of the final product when H5 is really released?Corribus wrote:We've been waiting for years. What's another 3 days?

Fabrice said they will get hardly any money from the open beta, but also said the deal with GameSpy was good and reasonable. Huh? I really don't get what he's smoking.Angelspit wrote:It's more likely that GameSpy and Ubisoft will share the revenues associated to the Heroes beta. Oh please, they'll just say that the person that reviewed it liked it and his personal opinion influenced his article and blah, blah, blah... And it's not like they give them money directly.Angelspit wrote:It's more likely that GameSpy and Ubisoft will share the revenues associated to the Heroes beta. Deals dont always involve money, you know...umfridus wrote:Fabrice said they will get hardly any money from the open beta, but also said the deal with GameSpy was good and reasonable. Huh? I really don't get what he's smoking.
In this case this is simple : three day exclusive against bandwith and exposure.
