Well, I had to do this sometime.
Ok...the idea for this thread is for players of Heroes V is to create mock battles between two different stacks of units (say a Druid vs 6 Pixies). rogue did this for Heroes 3 (I read that long before I joined up ). My inspiration (besides rogue's Fantasy Deathmatch?
Well....

So, don't be shy and post your own made up battles to see who will win.
However, I did open this thread for a purpose...so here goes.
Battle #1: Who wins? 3 Black Dragons or 40 Blood Furies?
And that'll be this post's poll .
Feel free to post your opinions and your take on this battle (or any other some other member decides to post here!

First, you completelly missed what I was saying in that link:I wasnt pitting furries and blackies toghether but said that 40 furries are as usefull as 3 blackies.
Second, this one can be easilly checked:furries do size*(4-7)/2.25 damage to dragons and act three times while dragons do size*(45-70)*2.35 damage to furries adn act two times.Furthermore, dragons suffer retaliation and furries dont.
Heres the worst case for furries:dragons attack first because they have bigger speed, and furries did not defend, and do max damage(3*70*2.35=493),30 furries die.I think this one is obvious.
Heres the best one for furries:Furries attack first because dragons couldnt reach them, and furries waited, thus having to do 2 attacks before the dragons can act and do max damage(40*7/2.25=124) twice, thus killing one dragon, and the next one will have 232hp.The dragons then deal min damage(2*45*2.35=211),killing 13 furries, which retaliate doing max damage(27*7/2.25=80).Furries attack, doing max damage, but the dragons are still alive and do min damage killing another 13 furries, and receive(14*7/2.25=43).Furries strike, and kill another dragon, leaving the remaining one at 226 hp.Furries manage another strike(because of high init),and then the dragon does min damage =(45*2.35=105),thus killing 7 furries, which retaliate for max damage(7*7/2.25=21).The battle is over for the furries quite soon.
So a single stack of 40 furries will always loose to a single stack of 3 blackies. But,like I said, that wasnt what I said in that thread,so I made a mistake and voted for the furries before reading the post to the end, thus the result should be 5-0.My words, however, were that furries are slightly more usefull against the enemy than dragons.

Also, compairing a lvl 7 unit with level 2 units (even at the rate of roughly 13 to 1) is not exactly a fair trial. Now, compair those same 40 units of furies vs 40 units of any other tier 2 creatures (and in some cases even more could be facing them) and you get a whole new perspective. Even a few level 3's could face them in similar numbers and be hurting (ground pounders with no range or no no retal). So for a tier 2 this is not bad.
Warning, may cause confusion, blindness, raising of eybrows, and insanity.
So much for creating a poll hastily
DaemianLucifer, do you mean 'which is more useful against the enemy' and nothing else? Try to get all the criteria into your sentence. I'll just say that if your sentence morphs to 'which is more useful against the enemy who is controlled by the AI' I claim victory in the linked debate at once.

As DL has already demonstrated that the Dragons will win hands down, I see no further need to keep this particular poll open. Use for example this thread for discussing the merits of one over the other.
