man that romancing guide is awesome .... if you can't get it to work from there Kalah methinks it's not gonna happen for you!

I had a bit of a look at my party in depth last night and found out a few little things:

1 Monk - level 22, THAC0 -12, attacks 3, 1D20 fists at +3, has strength 21 (nice little girdle) - she has about 430 odd kills which is the highest in the team

2 Fighter/Archer - level 7/21 THAC0 -15!!! attacks 4! (crossbow+++++)

3 Fighter/Thief - level 7/24 got Use any Item feat .... now can use scrolls upto level 9 (made sure int was high for just this feat!)

4 Fighter/Mage - level 7/21 using a sling +4 with +4 bullets (sling+++++)

5 Inquisitor - level 21 wields Carsomyr (Two handed++ Single weapon++)

6 Fighter/Cleric - level 7/21 THAC0 -8 Main Hand and -5 Off Hand Attacks 3 dual wielding Crom Faer (sets str to 25!!) and Morning Star +4 (two weapon+++ Hammer+++)

can't remember everything, but just killing machines some of them

and for a laugh I was about to get into a reasonable fight with a good fighter, two mages (able to cast timestop and the like) a nasty thief and a few archers, so I thought I'd try out some of my new feats .... here are the major actions:

Inquistor casts Summon Deva, Thief casts Chain Lightning, Cleric casts Implosion on one of the mages, monk uses quivering palm and runs towards other mage, archer targets fighter and mage casts Dragon Breath at two mages and Fighter .... suffice to say that the Implosion failed cause the mages were insta-killed by the dragon breath, the fighter was unconsious (and then hit by the quivering palm followed by some smack from a whirlwind attacking monk) the deva cleaned up the archers while the rest were mopped up .... that Dragons Breath is just so sweet!!!!

I think this may come a litter late, forgot to put it earlier but whatever. The guide may contain plot Spoiler 8| so use it at your own risk. I've not test everything that is in the guide so I'm no responsible if anything goes wrong in your game :devil:

My super-katana, the Celestial Fury, just disappeared... just gone.

I started all over again, and this time the Viconia romance seems to get going.

Here's a weird glitch: some times, when I try talking to someone, I get the message: cannot initiate dialogue. (name) appears busy. This happens even when I'm supposed to be talking to the person. To get it working I have to save and reload, then it works...

Oh dear, that's an infamous bug. Perhaps you need to patch the game?

had a lot of that in SoA until I patched it, and did the same for ToB and haven't had any issues yet .... *touch wood*

Well I thought that since I installed these new versions they'd be patched, at least up to ToB. Any good patches out there you can direct-link me to?

Official Shadows of Amn patch version 23037 http://downloads.bioware.com/baldursgat ... NGLISH.exe

Official Throne of Bhaal Patch version 26498 http://downloads.bioware.com/baldursgat ... NGLISH.exe

UnOfficial Shadows Of Amn FixPack, English-Language Game Text Update, Throne Of Bhaal Pre-Install Prep Uninstaller, or individual fix: http://www.baldurdash.org/fixes.html

Sorcerer's Place Fixpack v1.2 (SoA only!)
A collection of various bugfixes that were never implemented in the official SoA patch. NOTE: Please make sure to read the readme file included in the zip first, where the author explains exactly how the whole thing works and what you should look out for!

UnOfficial Throne Of Bhaal FixPack, English-Language Game Text Update, or individual fix: http://www.baldurdash.org/ToB/Fixes/TOBfixes.html

Mods you may be intreasted in:
All-Race Romances:
http://www.baldurdash.org/SoAtweaks/BG2 ... mances.zip

Sir Kalthorine Ut Wistan's Evil Override Dialogs have been updated, now providing a simpler and more effective change to prevent Edwin, Korgan, and Viconia from suddenly leaving your group if your reputation happens to reach 18 or greater, which will break the Viconia romance and can leave your group in a bit of a rough spot if it happens in an out-of-the-way place.
http://www.baldurdash.org/SoAtweaks/BG2 ... logues.zip

Sir Kalthorine Ut Wistan's Happy Group Scripts go even further than the Evil Overrides. Not only will your group be free of fighting and squabbles no matter who you travel with, but your reputation shouldn't cause anyone to leave either, neither good nor neutral characters when it gets too low, nor evil characters when it gets too high. And no whining from the neutrals at reputation extremes either! http://www.baldurdash.org/SoAtweaks/BG2 ... cripts.zip

More SOA MOD can be found http://www.baldurdash.org/tweaksandcheats.html

Concurrent SoA NPC Romances Hack by Sir Kalthorine ut Wistan:
With this patch it doesn't matter which NPC you "pick" in the conversations that would normally end one of the romances in favour of another. All romances will still continue as if you picked the respective NPCs. It will also allow female PCs to have romances with female NPCs, and romances will also progress in any game environment.

NOTE: Please make sure to read the readme file included in the zip first, where the author explains exactly how the whole thing works and what you should look out for!http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s ... cripts.zip
Warning! The author had apparently remove this mod from his site cause he receive reports that they caused a "stutter" bug when more than one romanceable female NPC was in the group at certain points in the game. It is recommended to use Sabre's concurrent romance scripts as they are reported to be free of known bugs.

Sabre's concurrent romance scripts can be found in Ease-Of-Use mod here>http://weidu.org/ease.html

NPC Flirt Packs
Adds new interludes, discussions, and epilogues to the four Bioware romance NPCs: Aerie, Anomen, Jaheira, and Viconia. Includes content for Baldur's Gate 2 SOA and TOB.

Imoen Romance :D

Edwin Romance
http://www.spellholdstudios.net/mods/edwin/

Nalia's Romance
Contains a complete romance with Nalia, including the tree of life dialogs, beloved one in danger, Nalia's abduction by bodhi, and other love related quests. It also adds some new quests and character interactions. I strongly recommend having Minsc in the party
http://web.starman.ee/arnel/nalia/

Last but not lest A highly recommended one:Unfinished Business
Unfinished Business ("UB") is designed to restore many of the cut items, quests, and encounters from the game's final release, as well as try to tie up some of the "loose ends."

Current components include:

* The Kidnapping of Boo,:devil: by Cliffette
* The Suna Seni/Valygar Relationship Restoration
* Kalah and What He Was Promised, by Andyr
* Cat and Mouse: Bodhi Hunts You in Spellhold, by Ghreyfain
* Gorje Hilldark and the Extended Illithium Quest
* The Pai'Na/Spider's Bane Quest
* Restored Crooked Crane
* Restored Encounters
* Artemis Entreri in Bodhi's Lair
* Corrected "Xzar's Creations"
: and many more

* Kalah and What He Was Promised, by Andyr
So, Kalah, what were you promised?

and going thru ToB reminds me how I had forgotten how tough the game can be at some points! Certainly not unbeatable, but difficult fights abound!

Ah, the part with the Mind Flayers... I never got past that one last time, but now I know exactly how to tackle those ¤%"#&! - by casting Chaotic commands on one or two characters and taking them on in open combat.

that helps, as does the Psion Blade (immune to all psionic attacks), but there is still one flayer that killed me on occasion, needed a Dragons Breath to really take that last room out, but wasn't too bad

the other bit on that level is much easier, right upto where I'm at now .... at this point I get to fight a Red Dragon and then a Demi-Lich .... *gulp* I prefer to fight the dragon, especially after I cast Resist Fear!! I hate Liches - especially Demi-Liches that like to cast Imprisonment!!! :mad:

I used to summon swords (cannot remember the spell name) with my mages against mindflayers.
The rare magic protection scroll helps against imprisonment. Two of these can be bought in Athkatla.

It's been so long since I've played that game (it is, IMO, one of the best RPG's out there).

Could the spell be "Black Blade of Disaster"?

Mordenkainen's sword, I think. And if you did your importing right, you can have more scrolls of MP.

Mordenkainen's Sword is indeed the one, and is pretty handy, but doesn't always work for ya

well, taken care of Watcher's Keep, though I have to admit that I did not fight the Demogorgon, just sealed the suckers up in there - that's by far the most difficult fight in the whole game, and then some!!!

I don't remember the Demogorgon as being particularly hard but then again, I was using Korgan as bait {which worked against the Demilich as well}. Did I miss any real challenges like instant kill, imprisonment or stoning?
