stefan.urlus wrote: for the fahrenheiters out there that is 104 Fahr up to 116.6 Fahr .... now that's goddam HOT! 9 days in a row .... and my random thought is how people acclimatise to where they live, if this happened in most of europe or northern USA even you'd hear about the deaths starting to pile up (old people mainly) but in some places here is Aus, Africa or say Brazil, there wouldn't be any, it's damn hot in anyones language, but I find that intriguing
To be fair: when you hear about heat related deaths during the summer here in the US, it is almost always elderly folk who are in improperly ventiliated apartment buildings. So it might be 100F outside but 120F or so inside, with no windows even open, no fresh air, and no water. It's very sad.

I agree totally, it's the same in Europe I think too, yet it doesn't really happen here, regardless how hot it gets ... strange I think

So why don't you just say it and clue us all in?

Dont ever cut your thumb. It hurts like hell, but thats not the worst part. The worst is that your whole hand becomes useless without your thumb.Even the simplest things become agonizingly hard without a thumb.

A recent study of the brain claims that when game violence of any kind is introduced to teenage brain causes them to be more violent. Now I know this has happened before, but I fear this test may become the banner for certain people. The type who want to tell everybody else how they should live.
Well before long (at least in america) we may have a period of time (in the not unseeable future) where Video Games are illegal (at least to minors). This will result in a lot of Video Game manufactures a huge loss of profit in America. So you may want to enjoy your video games now if you are in America. Before long Video Games will join cigarettes (and prior to that for awhile alcohol) in a long list of "We know better then you." victims. Perhaps I am too jaded and this is just a rant.

I don't drink, but I don't care if you do as long as you don't hurt anybody.
I don't smoke, but I don't mind if you do as long as I have some ventilation.
Gambling ect, it is not my concern how a person lives their life, if they want to make themselves sick or broke or whatever, who am I to say no as long as they don't hurt anybody else in the process???When they do hurt somebody else, drunk or whatever should not be an excuse, and they should be punished to the full extent. After all they chose to start.

Ok I will stop ranting now. If this keeps up, soon we are going to have to ask the government if we can breathe.

Weapon manufacturers and dealers boost the economy the most, thats why no one dares to touch them. They have the most money.Cazinos, tabacoo companies and liquer dealers are below,so they get a bad word here and there, but still nothing serrious(except the prohibition, but we know how that one ended). So game developers will just have to become more productive.Dont worry,we wond see them banned, however increase in price or decline of content is quite a possibillity.

The most recent prohibition is tobacco. Wonder how long that will last. I personally think it is just a way to get more profit (make it illegal, so it goes to the black market where profits soar about 200% then make it legal again).

Edited cause I felt like it :) . Oh btw, as a non-interesting side note, it is 37 (ish) days to my B-Day (jan-18) so I am going to have to find a dark hole to hide in till it's over soon.

Pls, as if teenagers are so non-violent when they're not playing video games. Instead of focusing on trite shit like this maybe they should take a look at the bigger picture.

And what's up with them wanting to make the rating system tougher cause kids that shouldn't have gotten the game anyway got them?! Sure, if no one is applying the law you make it more draconic, God forbid you start inforcing it. Them again it's conforting to know it's not just my country doing that shit.

Let's think happier [random] thoughts. As Mytical said in that other thread, "Christmas is a'coming!", so I changed my avatar and board style in preparation! First to guess my current style gets a cookie.

I just love the winter holidays. :-D

my thought about them limiting sales of games and the like is that it's just not gonna happen in america, they keep trying and trying to get stuff like this passed and each time it gets knocked on its ass ... i think due to first amendment
