It woudve been to powerfull. The pattern is that a mass versoin is 2 levels above the single target one,so mass cat reflex would be level 6 then.

@ ThunderTitan - Light and Dark as elements is a bit confusing, but not too much. I like the idea of adding earth and fire effects to meteor shower. It'd be interesting to have spells like that, from multiple schools, especially if they could find spells that cover all the schools (ie. an earth-fire, earth-water, earth-air [hmm maybe too contradictory?], air-fire...).

Wow...mass cat reflexes...that's scary and dangerous.

Separately...I'm a Galactic Gargle Blaster. Yay for me!?

I was saying that they would get confused with the magic schools.

Hm.. i would only want the spells that make sense to have 2 or more elemental damages.

Not but I was talking about the contradictionary-ness of light and dark magicschool combined. But if it's like HoMM IV when the best class bonusses are given then it evens out I think.

Just bringing this topic on the Latest Posts lists because of the Beta being out now. So betatesters, anything interesting in the Spells department?

Except that instead of "Mass" spells, the "upgrade" is an "area effect" spell?

How does this "area effect" differ from "mass"?

Well area of effect prob means that instead of all ur creature getting a bless or curse only those in a certain area do.

Oh. That's an interesting twist. And I guess that by advancing in mastery of the Magic School Skills that area gets larger and larger?

How about particular spells? Are they all the ones we know from previous games? Or how about spell graphics?

From what i've seen the animation is different. But there are many old spells still in there.
