Fittingly, one of the biggest "news" stories here today is the "new" alarm sounded by scientists that temperatures are going to rise all over the world in the coming weeks, and that our southern regions here in Norway may have one of the mildest winters in decades...
Why I find this funny? Well, people keep calling it "extreme weather", even though it's nothing worse than it has been for years. Last year we had a snow record all over the country, and people started getting nervous. What they were forgetting was that we hadn't had that much snow in twelve years, and that these things happen in cycles.
I'll start to worry when we se no snow throughout winter.

The long term forecast for the UK, earlier in the year, was that we would have a very cold winter this year, so far, here in the North East of England, the weather has been very windy and wet, but only a couple of nights where it was cold enough for a slight frost.
At the moment it`s cold, but that`s more due to wind chill, no rain here tonight (so far)
