Maybe this guide can help you (always check the FAQ before asking ;) )

It's a long time since I've played it, but I made it work by bypassing the config utility (changing the shortcut to link directly to .exe file + some tinkering with regedit).

The game was developed for Dos (maybe Win95), and since WinXP has severe problems with backwards compatability, it's good news just to get it running. Good luck with it, and have fun. :-D

I did everything you did and have been trying for 4 hours.
I have tried to reconfigure, downloaded the application compat pack and it still won't start.
Any suggestions?

Well, nevermind, I tried Mok's patch and that worked when I executed from it.
I'll try it on 8 later this week.

I have tried with MOKs patch and compatibilty with 98 and even changed no Accelaration in DXdiag but it keeps coming with the following error.

DDERR_CANTLOCKSURFACEin file
D:\mm7Src_eng\MM7\Code\Screen16.cpp at line number 2199

Any ideas as I am stuck to get this to work Thanks

I run MnM 7 on my pc(win xp, directx 9.0c) with no problems at all.
I just install it and configure dxdiag to turn off the sound accelaration
and all worked ok(just rare stucks on sound). I don't know any more

1. Startbutton
2. Push the Run icon/button write "dxdiag"
3. Choose screen (3. flip)
4. Deaktivate Direct3D-acceleration
5. You are good to go!

:D I hope
