Heroes at the Casinos

Unread postby Angelspit » 09 Nov 2006, 15:18

I warn you, I just found a <a href="/http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/061109/20061108 ... tml">press release</a> that sounds like an April's Fool joke:

<i>"Cyberview Technology (LSE:CYBS - News), a leading provider of secure server-based downloadable technology for the gaming industry, today announced an agreement with Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, to develop games for casinos and other gaming venues based on Ubisoft's hit title, Heroes of Might & Magic® V. (...) The casino games will be designed to take full advantage of the high quality audio and graphics from Ubisoft's "Heroes of Might & Magic® V" making it instantly recognizable and appealing to a huge and untapped market of newer players."</i>

I don't know what to say...

I don't know what to say about this. HoMM in a casino setting? Some how, I don't see that working, I really don't. HoMM is not supposed to be put in a casino setting and some how, I feel this would ruin the image that HoMM has for itself.

Well, as long as it's H5 influencing a casino game and not the other way around....

I would assume that would be the case, but even then, I don't know if that's a good idea, but I suppose we'll see how it plays out.

Oh, I know what to say: This is tasteless. And someone SHOULD make this clear to Ubisoft -- this time...

But this is not an April Fool's joke, that's what makes it scary.

I think it's a stupid idea. And in some way I can't really describe, I feel insulted.
