Here's some pretty bizarre news... I've been sitting up all night writing an 11-page thesis for school, it's currently 6:13 am and... I think I'm enjoying myself. :tired:

there are many things wrong with that, but the ending is by far the worst .... jokes aside though, there is little better then actually enjoying what you do, because it almost ensures good results if you like what you do .... so I suppose it's a good thing ;|

Man jailed for putting puppy in warm oven

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (AP) -- A man who pleaded guilty to putting his wife's puppy in a 200-degree oven, crippling it, was sentenced Monday to six months in jail.

Third District Judge William Barrett ordered Marc Christopher Vincent, 36, to serve six months in jail without the chance of early release. He must also pay a $500 fine and $986 in veterinary bills for the dog.

Vincent, 36, pleaded guilty September 18 to one count of misdemeanor aggravated animal cruelty for putting the dog in an oven for five minutes on May 25 during a fight with his wife, Rhonda. She has since filed for divorce.

Teen threatens police with snake
Northern Territory police say a teenager threatened two officers with a live snake when they pulled him over for an alcohol breath test.

The 17-year-old was driving a four-wheel drive when he was stopped at midnight ACST on Saturday in Darwin.

The teenager was breath tested, and police say he allegedly blew 0.131.

Police say the boy was then being questioned when he spotted a snake on the road.

Seizing the opportunity, he snatched the reptile and pointed its head at the officers.

Police told the teenager to drop it, but they say he instead took off into some nearby scrub with the snake still in hand.

The boy will be summonsed to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court at a later date on charges of drink-driving and driving while unlicensed.

Police say they do not know what happened to the snake.

true, but it's pretty funny anyway :D
Thai zoo to teach panda to mate with 'porn' videos
The project manager at a Thai zoo, which has hosted a couple of pandas for four years, says they will play "porn" videos for the male next month to encourage them to breed in captivity.

Panda project chief Prasertsak Buntrakoonpoontawee says the pair - living chastely together at the zoo in the northern city of Chiang Mai since arriving from China in 2003 - will be separated in December, but stay close enough for occasional glimpses of each other.

"They don't know how to mate so we need to show the male how, through videos," Mr Prasertsak told Reuters.

He says Chuang Chuang, the six-year-old male, will be shown the videos on a large screen when he might be feeling amorous.

"We'll play the video at the most comfortable and intimate time for him, perhaps after dinner," Mr Prasertsak said, hoping Chuang Chuang would then use the techniques on Lin Hui, a five-year-old female.

The zoo is hosting a four-day international panda conference starting on Monday (local time), drawing 200 wildlife and panda specialists from around the world.

well that's my problem with this .... does it work? will showing a panda porn do anything at all? to them it might be just procreation, not a lot of joy in it .... will that excite him? I don't know, sure they can try it, just dubious about it's success

Well if it does excite that that will put the end to the theory that only humans and dolphins enjoy in sex.

I think the point is to show him how it's done, not get him excited.

Well i'm thinking that if they need to be taught how to do it by others of their species then it's not a verbal exchange. And i highly doubt we're the only onmes with the eyes.

I didnt say only ones with eyes, but only ones that used them in such a manner. Some butterflies use their eyes to recognize certain flowers, but I doubt their brain comprehends more than just colour and shape.
