TotE, HoF, and patches

If I install the other expansion packs, do I still need to install all the patches? And if I do, can I just install the latest patch, or do I need to download all of them individually?

You need patches for all versions of heroes. Original Heroes 5 requires patch 1.4 + 1.41 + 1.5 + 1.6, HoF requires 2.1 and TotE requires 3.1

But there's something more. While HoF requires original heroes 5 installed (even though you launch it as another game), TotE is standalone meaning that it does not require any other heroes game installed. Nor other patches.

Think of it like a new game like Heroes 6 which is completely independent of your other heroes 5 installations (including patches). It still has one patch though (3.1)

Also TotE contains everything the other games have except the campaigns, but even those can be downloaded legally. So I don't suggest buying the others, only TotE

I've been playing the original since the beginning of the year. I have the first 3 patches installed(problems with the 1.4, 1.41, 1.5, 1.6 the group of options in the lower right hand corner were all messed up and I could not end a day).

Anyway I purchased the EPIC collection and wish to install. BUT I have read on one of the forums problems with installing this software. Any suggestions before I waste a lot of time?

One other question for the gurus: Why does the game not play on my laptop? I ran ubisoft's webpage to see if it had the requirements and gave a positive response. Only the game doesn't fully load.

It depend if you are planning on playing all of them, which I wouldn't do. Why bother time with H5 or HoF if you can play Tote?

Well since I haven't played TOTE, I don't have an answer to that. So does installing it give any problems?
