i mean the main differences between the two game, like party creation (in the begining in MM7, and in the whole game in MM8) and light-dark magic using (only one is available in MM7, but you can have both in MM8)

Well I'm new, but at a glance it seems half of the world are modding MM7, so you might be better off being 1 of the few to mod MM8 rather than the 3427th person to mod MM7.

The light/dark magics don't seem to depand on it, but classes and their specific magics do. And if we take M8 engine all items would have to be done for human-like and troll-like characters.
I changed my opinion and voted for MM7.
My patches: MM6 MM7 MM8. MMExtension. Tools. Also, I love Knytt Stories and Knytt Underground. I'm also known as sergroj.

I know that many people modding mm7 (me too).
Mod for mm8 will be great part!! In a spirit of BDJ modding:
To add more quests, make game more longer...maybe to add something new...

I think we should also choose from using Mok's patch for MM7 or not. The patch adds at least one bug and it's impossible to track its changes unless we somehow contact the author.

Voted for the MM8. Reason is, I like this game more and second thing is - we have MM7 mod (BDJ) already. In addition MM8 is well disained for soloing (you do not need to have graves). Game is relatively shorter then MM7 and may be not so complicated to make mod.
