Is this possible?

Unread postby Skullos » 11 Jul 2008, 22:27

What does it do when I create a region in the map editor? Cos when I create that region there does not seem to be anything I can do with it. I just have something that is marked out and basically that is all.

What I really wanted is to be able to copy (FULL copy, all monsters, artifacts, terrain objects etc) and then paste it over to a new map. I was hoping I could do that with region markers, but I dont seems to be able to find out anything I can do with it. So the big question is, can I do what I am looking for? And what does the marker thing do ?

Regions are reserved for scripting needs only. For example, you want an event happening when a hero enters certain area. That's when you mark that area with a region and then associate a trigger with that region.

@ Skullos -- I've fooled around with trying to copy an existing map to a blank map, mostly to changed the size. Couldn't do it. I ended up recreating the map from scratch in the new size. It went a lot faster the second time around and the map was better. You can add underground, change multiplayer to singleplayer and so on, but you cannot copy the terrain. At least as far as I know.
