I noticed during LAN play over a program called GIT (Gaming Internet Tunnel), H5's AI is taking over 8-12 minutes. We end up waiting and doing other stuff between turns. It did the same thing on Hamachi while using LAN over the internet.
However, when I play the map alone with no human players, the AI turns only take 2-3 minutes. Keep in mind, this is in Hard mode. Normal, is just unfair.
Can the LAN function be tweaked for faster AI? Is LAN mode slow due to the fault of the original programming?
Or, is a faster Intel Quad-Core 12 mb cache Yorkfield CPU w/ a 1333 FSB the answer.
I just want to know if anyone plays 8 player, impossible size ToE maps and ran into slow computer turns while playing LAN mode over the internet.
It would be nice to know if anyone plays impossible sized maps on a Quad-Core CPU with ToE (Tribes of the East). As I think this might be the option in the future to replace my Pentium D 3.2 Ghz.
Any suggestions to speed up the AI without ruining the gameplay would be nice.
Thanks for any and all advice.
Anyone using a Quad-Core system for H5 ToE?
