Limbo of the lost copies Oblivion
Did anyone else see this? Apparently the game Limbo of the Lost copy/pasted art from the game Oblivion.

Check out the post where the guy overlapped the images from the 2 games.

You know, that annoys me no end: the use of publicly available sound samples in games. Of the top of me head, I've heard the sound of the horrified scream and the breaking of pottery as the exact same sound in countless games.
That said, I can't imagine they would actually sell detailed visuals from existing (and popular) games like this... would they?

http://www.trisynergy.com/news.asp?nid=25Tri Synergy is just as shocked as everyone else is by the recent screenshot comparisons. At no point during our dealings with Majestic Studios up until the point that the comparison was first publicly made by a third party did we have any knowledge of these similarities. Additionally, Tri Synergy will discontinue distribution of Limbo of the Lost in both retail and online outlets.
We have contacted the developer, Majestic, and are anxiously awaiting their response. As soon as we know more on this matter we will issue another statement.
What about movies then? Have you heard that MoO2-sound of a ship exploding in any movies lately? Or the Stellar Converter, perchance?Ethric wrote:You know, that annoys me no end: the use of publicly available sound samples in games.
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.
Oh sure, movies and TV as well as games. It's stupid, can't they just spend a few hours making their own effects.Kalah wrote: What about movies then? Have you heard that MoO2-sound of a ship exploding in any movies lately? Or the Stellar Converter, perchance?

I hear the alarm from Deus Ex in many TV shows (including 24 if I remember correctly). Also, there is that very common sound of a screaming cat that's been used in countless movies and shows. It just sound so fake now.
Also, notice how much noise doors make when they are closed on TV (even doors in mansions that are worth millions), as if there was a shortage of WD-40 across the world.

I'm reading the forum discussion over there...PRICELESS!
I guess the creators of the game were trying to answer the primordial question:
"How much can you rip off from other games and still have it considered a unique product?"
