Tome of Dark Magic -no Vampirism...

Unread postby Blood_Hands » 29 Jan 2008, 16:22

Hi!

My Tome of Dark Magic doesn't contain Vampirism!
I was playing with Haven. Had only advanced dark, but i had the tome equipped, so I could cast Puppet master, or Curse of the N, but Vampirism was not in my spell book....

Is it because the map is made for HoF, or is this the case on TotE ready maps also?
If I play a map which is only HoF ready, then there is no chance for Vampirism to show up in the mage guild?

Game ver: TotE
Map: Battle For Honor v1.5 (2.1&HOF-Ready)

cheers: BH

I think the map source determines the spells. I've been playing a lot of non ToTe maps lately and never see the new ToTe spells show up in the guilds.

Lots of maps made for HoF or the original release don't allow the TotE spells. You can download customisable forms of these maps from
http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/he ... maps.shtml

I never play a map now without checking spell options in the editor. Though when you change a map, it also keeps the other broken version, so there are lots of duplicates in my map list.

Thank you!

I have one more question:

I opened the map with the editor. At the Map properties, i checked the TotE spells and artifacts, and saved.

Are there any other differences between HoF and TotE? Or is it TotE ready now? :)
(if i don't want to modify the map, by placing memory mentors, or other TotE specific buildings)
