Excellent stuff Alexandru. Can we use this on maps we make, and other players can play the map even if they don't have the tool? Because if I can use this on some maps I make I need to know if it (my map) will play on sombody elses computer if they don't have the tool.

Upon looking through Google, no can find. Is the program sizable to send me an email with the exe?

Okay, so another person will have to have the exe. Which spawns another question. Say, I make a map using this tool with the exe. Now, I put the map and readme file in a zip. If I copy my exe in the zip with the map and so on, will that exe work for the person as well, on the map? Or does someone else have to go inside and change things around him/her self?
It would be extremely excellent if we could use this somehow like WoG. You know, like for individual maps.

If that would be for the same version of h4, which is likely, the exe will work.

Any thought about ideal diff file and bitwise installer? ;)
(that would be for distribution much better and it's thing what all lust to know :D )
..tool..
The hiew was been enclosed to Volcov Commander and it's really famous, good old times, wonder if I have it somewhere, probably will be buried among with others old hex stuff. Anyway this version was pretty old and only free of which I know. The current version costs about 40$

I was looking quickly and found following three free hex editors:

Isn't this basically how Equilibris works? I don't see a need for a bunch of competing mods. Everyone should feel free to experiment with these techniques but if we can (mostly) agree on a change we should add it to Equilibris.

@Kristo
Having freedom with experimenting is always good :D

also here's that word, mostly...

BAD sent me the one he is using, thanks Pol. I'll look into this and see how it works. And if it is like Equilibrus, then perhaps it will be compatible with it. Looks like you can change other things too. I'm sure BAD will have more to report.

A couple of questions:
1) Can be changed the stats of the units to? (e.g. Peasants with 20 hp, 30 def/30 attack and so).

2) Can be those increased over the game? (e.g. After X number of battles peasants would have 30 HP instead of 20)

3)Can be the creature pics changed? (And if) Can they be changed during play too?

Of course can be used on any maps, but the changes must be done in executable(main heroes iv executable) otherwise wont work.
So this means it can only work for Windows players as Mac doesn't know what exe is.

Don't lose faith. There may be workarounds for this. If you are using Equilibrus, then there should'nt be a problem.

I have to assume, BAD, that you have all the numerical values for everything in H4 so that everything, more or less, can be changed around. If so, smells like WoG to me. Love that aroma!

I don't really know that aroma, but I think I can smell something, and it does smells good. :D

another question: Can I change the name of the Creatures?

Well, WoG is leaps ahead of H4 as far as programming the game goes. And gameplay for that matter. But this Mod closes the gap a bit. (Byte). :D
