I like the one from H3. Was a close call with H3 and H4...

H V is out right away.

H II is good but too crystalline rather than watery.

H III is good as well but too mermaidy.

HoMM IV is the best, I like that it's actually a force -- water itself -- rather than a creature as such. But I love the looks of all of HoMM IV's elementals as they are really imaginative and interesting.

Also went with the Heroes IV Water Elemental. It looks like a big splash of water … or a big wave about to freeze you cold (with Ice Bolt) or stop you in your tracks (with Quicksand). Anyhow, I agree that the Heroes IV Elementals are all really great and really look like what I would imagine an Elemental to look like if they were real.

H4. It actually doesn't look like a plastic toy like H4's earth and fire elementals, and has quite a good idea. The H3 one is quite good as well, H5's is just weird and H2's is an earth elemental with a paint job.

Heroes IV. Its animations were quite good for the time.

H4 for me too. None of the others really even come close IMO.

H4, because it actually looks like it's made of..um..water.

I can't believe people are voting for 4. :|
But yea - most of them suck.

I'm with you 100%. I believe that all elementals should be a personification of that element: Earth Elementals should just be an animated rock, air elementals should be a sentient column of air, fire elementals should be made of fire, and water elementals should be made of water.

H4 undoubtedly. With the look close to the reality (imagination), and the strongest of all.

H4 is good. It's made of living water. Simple, makes sense.
H3 is a fish. And a woman. Neither of which are water.
H2 is a recolored earth elemental.
H5 is interesting, but a bit odd. Too experimental. I'd like to vote for it, but H4 is much better.

Voted H2. Yes it's ugly, but H3 reminds me of that damn conflux, H4 sucked and H5's just looks ridiculous.

Seriously, how can H2 version even pass for a water element?

Hey, I like the sound it makes when it walks. Like the sound you would make if you walked on rubber bags filled with jello or something. :)

Sure. I really can imagine as Water itself walks.

Just Kidding. I like best the sound of the Crusaders in H3

Well, obviously you're in the minority concerning the Heroes IV Water Elemental. I would say … don't let your prejudice against Heroes IV influence you vote(s) on the best creatures. Heroes IV Water Elemental is clearly the winner and the best of the lot.

hear, hear, and a great point as well, I've even voted for some H1 creatures, though I never played the game and some HV though I dislike it
