In TotE, both upgraded variants of the Cyclops (Stronghold level 7 creature) have the ability to perform a ranged attack by throwing a goblin. This can only be done when there is at least one goblin in a tile next to the Cyclops. When this is the case, the ranged attack becomes the Cyclops' default attack.
My problem is this: while it can sometimes come in handy to perform a ranged attack instead of a melee one (when the enemy has not closed the distance or is a ranged attacker) I do not know how to get the Cyclops to perform a melee attack when the enemy is in range, but there is a goblin in a square next to the Cyclops. Unless the enemy is in a square adjacent to the Cyclops, he will throw a goblin instead of performing a melee attack.
Can anybody tell me how to make the Cyclops perform a melee attack in these situations (apart from moving the goblins away from the Cyclops first)?
So how do I get a Cyclops to make a melee attack?
