Well, I don't play WoW, to be honest.

Pay to play doesn't agree with me (or my pocket ).

However, while looking through the BlizzCon website (looking for Starcraft 2 info), I saw that there's going to be a new profession called Inscription.

Also, I heard around the web that there's going to be a Death Knight class. Whether this is true or not, I don't know.

Of course, if you want more info, you might want to google it, or check the BlizzCon website.

And you forgot to mention the WoW movie Blizzard is looking to make, slated for a '09 release.

Now, that I want to watch (guys developing it are the same guys from 300 :oex:).

So there aren't any players who just play it once in a while? Or maybe at one prescheduled time per week?

Is the addicted fanatic who doesn't stop for 14 hours a true picture?

nope, WOW is addictive, i was a WOW addict for five months....darn it...now that i read this thread....i want to play again....luckily i erased the game off my harddrive and closed my account, so it would take some effort to reload the game and many many hours to patch it, which usually gives me time to rebuild my willpower and stop myself.
maybe if i just peek at the blizzard website, and just read a bit about the new expansion....just a little bit....im sure it would be ok if i just read about the expansion...death knight....hmmm, sounds like fun...
a co worker of mine, shes a mother of a 14 year old, she just bought her kid a copy of WOW last month.
i told her she may as well have just given her kid his first bottle of Jack Daniels....

You know, not everyone becomes an alcoholic because they drank whiskey when they were 12 or younger... actually i don't even much like most alcoholic beverages.

Frankly if you find going around killing X number of creature Y over and over again for weeks on end addictive that's on you, not the game. Heck, at least alcohol is chemically addictive.

ill agree that if a kid starts drinking at an early age he doesnt necassarily become an alcholic, but, drinking at an early age does set up behaviour patterns that will carry out throughout adulthood, so they will most likely be drinking all their life.
same thing with giving a young kid an addictive online game, he might not become a total addict, but it will set up bad habits. cuz hell need time to play WOW, which will take away from other things like friends, school, sports. WOW is one giant time sink. you cant play it for an hour or two a day and have a good character, you gotta put alot more time in if you want that nice blue gear.

so it looks like they are increasing the lvl cap to 80 now.
i read this page on the deathknight
http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/03/blizz ... ght-class/
sounds interesting the deathknight will be able to summon an overlord minion, but you wont be able to make the deathknight until you fufill certain criteria, so its a high lvl only class.
it will be available to alliance and horde, which seems kinda strange, i would think it would be horde only.
now im really tempted to play WOW again 8|

What, they won't become tea totalers?! Oh, poor them.

Age has little to do with addictions, i know people that started smoking after they were 20 and can't stop and people that started smoking at 14 and have stopped before it got to them.

As long as teh parents make sure their kids only play 1 or 2 hours a day there's no bad behavior pattern to be learned.

It's the little X next to the Quote button... but it only works if your post is the last one in the thread.

and thats the trick, trying to make sure they only play one or two hours a day...which is hard.

i wonder what races they are going to pick for deathknight, humans and undead of course, prob elves, i have a hard time picturing a troll or tauren deathknight....and gnomes...gnome deathknights....

Parenting is hard?! You don't say... (you don't really need to accomplish it every day, making sure once or twice a week at random sould send your kids enough of a message)

Gnome Death Knights would so rule... but you really think that they'd limit the only hero class in teh game to certain races?! Or do you think they'll announce more hero classes?

DK only for horde? That's just hilarious, one of the main characters in WC3, Arthas, was a Human DK.

And I think it sucks how they are adding multiple classes like this. Really does. At first (early wow period) there was talk about hero classes which was IMO really exciting, that would mean a NE rogue would become a warden, an Orc Shaman would become a Far Seer etc. But they just dumped that and decided to give people a joke of an excuse for new classes.

If I was still playing wow I'd never abandon my main char to start all over, even if its lvl 50-60 with a new class. It would make sense that if you fufill the new class needs (race/class) then you can simply transition into it if you want. So a human pally can become a DK if he so chooses, so can a warrior I guess.

But, honestly, BC didn't have anything exciting for me to look into it, and this new exp doesn't either.
