It might be possible, but there's no guarantee it will work, as laptop cards are not supported (complete list of hardware reqs here).

I don't know if there are people out there who tried the game with this card... anybody know?

GMA 950 and Heroes V

Unread postby desmod » 23 Jul 2007, 09:39

Hi,
I also have GMA 950 on my desktop machine with 1 Gb RAM-667 Mhz. Performance on that graphic card with Heroes V is acceptable, but there are some issues with Sylvan town - the textures are not rendered correctly. I suppose it is a drivers trouble. A friend of mine have a laptop with same graphic core and he plays Heroes V without complains.

I have a worse video chip [SIS] from a performance perspective but when I turn all my video & game settings to minimum the performance is acceptable to me.

Just make sure that you've got enough memory dedicated to the video system and that you've got enough basic RAM in your system [at least 1GB].

As stated before if your card isn't on the supported hardware list then we can't guarantee that it will work .... good luck.

If you're going to be playing computer games, you should really think about getting a dedicated card. Low-end dedicated cards are pretty cheap but the difference in performance is huge.

Edit - I see you already have the laptop, so getting a better card probably isn't an option for you. How much ram do you have?

I just took a look through some benchmarking on another site and the GMA 950 didn't hold up well at all.

You would possibly be better served downloading the demo and see how that runs. I don't recall if you can adjust video settings but if you can then turn everything off and lower the resolution and see what you think .... [at least this should give you a decent idea of what's going on without spending $]
