Teams in Heroes5 non-expansion

Unread postby Malto » 21 Jul 2007, 21:40

Hello guys :)

So yea since I wasn't able to open the regular maps from the game, I downloaded them off the net and put then in my maps folder.

So, what I want is to add teams in those maps.

Strangely enough, only 2 maps have "team" features in Heroes 5: "Neighbours", and "Allied". Why is it so?

Anyways, I wanted to add team features to the map "Heritage", but the editor doesn't want... :P

What happened is that I opened the map, set the number of teams to 2, set the player 1 and 2 together and the other 6 all in the same team, the second one.

I saved the map, renamed it and all and opened the game. I eventually tried to play the map, and...

It crashed!

It does not want to work :(

Also, if it can explain anything, it displayed "2v6v1v1v1v1" in the menu, instead of "2v6", heh. Also, when I opened the map "Neighbours", which works in teams, he didn't even check the Custom team option and only player 1 is in a team - And it is team 4! :|

Any ideas how to make teams work in the Heroes 5 non-expansion editor?

Thanks!

I don't have a solution, but the map I built did exactly the same thing. Whenever teams are set, it messes up the map. in experimenting I got different combinations when testing 2v1v1v1v1 or 4v2v1v1 I even got the right display once 1v1v1v1v1 but it still crashed.

It is apparently (another) bug in the editor. Does anyone know how to get around this? Does the expansion fix this, and can you still do non-expansion maps with it?
