Question on the very last mission of the necromencers...

Unread postby Mamoru-kun » 30 Jun 2007, 20:17

Hi all!

here is my problem: on heroic mode, in that map (where you have to fight Godric), Godric has a pretty tough army (stronger unit: titans (30). All other units with related numbers, up to 800 master grimlins). My own army is pretty tough too, and I win the combat with more than 20% of my units left (with as main pack: 200+ archliches).

The problem is that, when I played with Godric in the very first human missions, I gave him the " guardian angel" (not sure of the english translation), which, when you run ot ouf units in a fight, call back the stronger units back to life. Well, I thought it should be working like that, but in this map when I finish to kill Godric's very last titan.........a new army spawns, and what an army! 2K swordman, 900 archers, 90 knights, and...180 archangels!!!

So my questions are: is it a bug (and if yes, how to solve it?), and if no, should I really stard all over again to avoid that "guardian angel" working on Godric??? No need to say: with such a "respawning", it is -obviously- not possible to finish that map (even with using spells as "mind control" (once again, I'm not sure about the correct english translation))...

Help would be -greatly- welcomed (taking into account that it took me more than three months to arrive at this point !;))

I think that it happens no matter what, because the same thing happened to me after he lost all his academy units. But I sure didn't have to fight 180 archangels or any of the other numbers you suggested. It was more like 10 archs, and 50 or so of everything else...

I finished it on Hard though, so maybe the difficulty level comes into play..

He always gets reinforcements no matter his hero skills. I think the number depends on how many weeks have passed. Move faster.

Heh with a dark/summoning combination I had defeated him in the first time and I have not played it since - I don't even remember the guardian angel part. I think it was a combination of puppet master, mass slow, phoenix and raise dead that took his superior army down.

I think you can attack him by day 3-4 if you play fast.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

You have to move faster because Godric's army gets really really huge as time goes on. I failed the first few times, but then I played a perfect game later and attacked him before the end of the first week. Summon Phoenix took out his army then (fortunately enough I gave Markal Summoning Magic).

There're probably a lot of methods to win courtesy of the myraid skillbars you can give Markal. If you have Dark Magic, try Puppet Master or Frenzy, or else Animate Dead to block the Skeleton Archer stack (make sure you have an Amno Cart) to win.

OK thanks all. I have tried your suggestion (attacking before the end of first week), but unfortunately it doesn't work either: starting with only 5 titans...and finishing with 25 archangels, 350 swordman,...!

So before restarting all in block, do you think that just restarting the last mission of the heavens (the one where Godric appears) and finishing it with a Godric unleveled, then restarting my actual 5th necromencer map will take the "new" Godric into account? Or should I replay all the maps where Godric appeared? Or even (I hope not), will I have to redo the obsolutely whole campains untill now?!?

In other words, do anyone knows how are saved the heroes from campains to campains???

Thank you very much in advance!

(PS: by the way, is it really a bad idea to keep the "secondary heroes" unleveled?)

I know how badass mr.God can be but even I could kill his titanic army even after second month. I just couldnt belive how I defeated him. We were pretty even, he slightly stronger and I had to battle the same thing some times to find a keyhole to turn him into shame.

May I ask you which skills you have for Markal?

I suggest

Summoning (master of life-->haunted mines + master of conjuration)

Dark (master of curses-->mark of the necromancer's a must if you run out of mana)

Luck (soldiers luck and magic resistance)

Defense (evasion, protection--->chilling bones)
or Attack (battle frenzt-->cold steel + either tactics or archery), depending on your style.

I guess he has Leadership alredy set, thats why he is lord of the dead

If not take both Att and Def.

Hehe, my Markal almost has -none- of what you have suggested! I gave him what is needed to reach his ultimate capacity. So except "puppet master"...

Anyway, I'm not again restarting all again, but first I would like to know if having Godric unleveled (and the same for further secondary caracters) will bring troubles finishing the game or not?

Shaiz...well if not...what is your skills then? And going for ultimate campaign vise is risky, too risky IMO. I never do that.

Well leveling up some characters may cause trouble, but you shouldnt have to much difficulties because of that, well that angel ability sure make a pain in the arse.

If you feel, starting over, okay but try every other possible way first ;)
Find the keyhole in Mr.Gods army and bring it on with all ya got! ;)
