first, I apologize that my first contributions to the community is in the form of asking questions/help.
I just started getting into Heroes IV with the equilbris mod. I have the original 3d0 version, and I never picked up the expansions. Well, now they are impossible to find (the 3d0 versions, anyways) It looks like a lot of the fan-map maps and content needs the expansions to use. Plus i'd like to play those expansion campaigns. I noticed Ubi released a complete version that had H3 + expansions and H4 + expansions. I already have the H3 complete that 3d0 put out so i'd mainly be getting it for H4 expansions.
My question is this: Being a UK version, will I have any compatibility issues or other issues running it on a US-based PC in the US? It's the same exact game, right? I'll be able to patch it up (actually, doesn't it come patched up?) and use the equilbris mod, plus all the maps people have made, right? Is there anything else I need to know about running the UK version of the game?
If it's the same exact experience as the US version, I see no reason to try to track down the expansions seperately when i can get this cheaper all-in-everything pack.
Thanks!
Heroes of Might and Magic Complete UK version?
Correct.
Just get the Ubisoft HOMM4 Complete.
Install the regular version and each upgrade and then Equilibris.
The game is patched.
I also renamed the map editors and heroes exe files for each version so I could play or design for specific editions but that's up to you.
