Yes a childish card game that some people pay hundreds of dollars per person each year to play. So yes I think its worth it, even more so if it has internet connectivity which is likely. If they make it so it can work with the most popular card games which again would be likely, they could sell not only the camera but a game disc for each card game they support as well. Then they release a patch everytime a new expansion comes out which they can charge for.

Remind me again where Pokémon is ranked among card games? Finding crazy people won't be the problem... paying your mortgage will.

@OD: If you are going to post copyrighted material, at least give credit &/or a link.
That comic is from Penny Arcade for August 1.
When this game was first announced, PA had a nice "Eye-of-Sauron" comic about it.
edit:I corrected the link, per OD's suggestion in the following post.

Fair enough. But this link is better than the link to the daily comic.

That would be cool.
They should do that for every popular TCG while they're at it.
Why did Wizards of the Coast discontinue Duel Masters...

The problem with expanding to older games is card recognition. The news section of penny arcade today explains how the system works, and there are specially designed glyphs on the card for the reader to view. If they did, for example, Yu-Gi-Oh!, then it simply needs to recognize the numbers on the cards. (but then, there is also the problem of how to handle face-down cards.)
The font in MtG has changed over the years, and so that can cause additional problems.
Don't get me wrong - I think making it compatable with other CCGs is a great idea, but I think that it will be very difficult.
@OD: you're right about the link. I modified it. For everyone else, I just had the link to the current-day's page, as opposed to the specific comic at the time OD posted his.
