wrong patch installed - what happens??

after installing patch 1.4, the game crashes after only 5 minutes of playing I think I might have bought the colector's edition without knowing it (heroes sometimes get the special trail but I thought iwas just lucky!!!), can someone help me with this please??

Do I just download the collectors patch and run it or do i need to delete the other patch first?

And I'm pretty sure that here will be some way how to identify which version of heroes you have.

But could be that you will be needing to reinstall completely anyway. * Patches should deny applying over wrong version, well, maybe, not always...

Just another question yet not answered for me,I have both the originaland haveinstalled HoF and patched it with 2.1 canIalso update the with 1.41? Even if it is for the original?

after applying 2.1 you can't install 1.41, and before 2.1 I dunno, but belive not....

Okay. The thing is the sev. lameness are even in 2.1! And the rough estimatement of the neutral stack numbers aint shown...pityful laziness of those patchmakers sez I.
But a bit off topic, Im gonna put this in the bug list...
