Planning to Buy ‘Tribes of the East?’
We had one of these for HoF, we should have one for TotE, too.
I’m in the fourth category at the moment. I’m more excited for this one than I was for Hammers of Fate, but that isn’t saying much.

I'm joining Kareeah in the 4th cathegory.
I didn't believe in HoF at all (too many times Ubival failed my hopes before) but I heard it was not that bad.
At least on paper, this add-on surely seems though worth a try.
The number of creatures, including the return of the orcs/barbarians, kinda completes and brings the Heroes universe to a size close to what I expected in the first place.
Alternate upgrades are another improvement. It's a thing I was asking for in the very beginning, before they started publishing the line-ups an vanish my hopes. Although a H3 fan, I could have never denied the existance of H4 when working on a sequel (which is what they did). They should have kept the choice concept, but bring back the upgrades - in order to bring back the variety.
To avoid though the frustration of incompatibility, I had (back then in 2005) two proposals:
1. The possibility to detroy the upgraded part of the building, in order to build the other upgrade.
2. Upgrades - being race related now (Archangel/Fallen Angel for example) - to be "re-trainable". As they come from the same basic creature, I see no reason we shouldn't be able to "Convert" them to match our ranks - H4 frustration solved, but innovation kept
This could have been applied on many other things.
Now that they're finally providing a decent combination of the good things in both H3 & H4 - and I suppose by the fall, after 1.5 years - most bugs will finally be corrected, there's a good chance the game will definitly be worth a shot. Of course I'll be more cautious this time and wait at least a week after the release, to hear the first reactions.

They could just leave 1 building for both upgrades, and just let you choose which you want to hire.
