problems installing heroes v

hello people,

as the title says, i got a huge problem installing the game.
i got the silver edition yesterday and decided to uninstall the heroes v i had installed since i only had borrowed it from a friend, wanted to use my own cd key. anyway, the installation process stopped at 100 % and didnt continue, had to press cancel and got some messages that said that something was wrong.
tried to install it today and the only thing that happens is that it attempts to uninstall itself when i press the install button, anyone know what i can do?

Try to do the following:
1. Remove the Heroes V folder from your harddrive.
2. Remove the Heroes V entry from your system registry (regedit)
3. Restart and try installing again.

But if the above thing doesn't work re-install windows. I know this because a couple of months ago HoMM 2 & 3 didn't want to work!

But after re-installing windows it works fine

i havent re-installed yet, there are things i need to do before doing that
