Let's talk about another great fantasy-themed game. What's your favourite version? (there are 4, AFAIK) How 'bout race? Any hero buildup you're particularly proud of?
I'll start by saying I've only played W3, which I like very much, and the demo of W4, which is a complete waste of time. I like the Fey the most, although certain missions were rather difficult with them. But I sticked to them mainly because I liked their concept.
BTW, I searched the net for some images from W2 and found the map below. Can someone tell me if the dark green tower on the western side of the sea is the Fey homeland?

Yes. That's the Fey fortress.theLuckyDragon wrote:BTW, I searched the net for some images from W2 and found the map below. Can someone tell me if the dark green tower on the western side of the sea is the Fey homeland?

That's not Warlords game though. It's RTS games based on Warlords, Warlords Battlecry II.
I like the Warlords 2 Deluxe the most.

I played a few campaign games in WBC II with a Knight Warrior. Was rushed by an even more powerful Knight Warrior though so I quitted. Now I play WBC III with an Empire Alchemist.
Alchemy gives you almost everything. Charm and Transmute for economy. Summon Guardian gets you a good tower for protecting an area. Stone and Bronze Golem gives you good summons for basewrecking. Then there's Disjunction for disabling enemy heroes equipment and Spellforge for doubling the power of your own equipment.
A really good spell is Aquire which instantly converts all mines within ½ the command raidius (which increses with 50% for each masterylvl). Create item which is the very first spell gives you a free item with quality increasing for every masterylvl. Lastly there is Brew Potion which gives you a healing potion and an extra one for each masterylvl.
I'm playing the Conquest campaign which all say are better than the original campaign since it's pretty dynamic. The goal is to ally with all races and that can be done in essentially two ways. Either Sack the capital or fight for them/do favors which will make them like you better.
If you you're allied with f.e. the Ssrathi, they'll help you fight the Empire in the battle for their capital just like the Knight will do against the Demons.

I love the High Elf I played WBC II and III, but all my heroes files have been corrupted and I have to start over again..
High Elves have the best cavalry, IMO. The ONLY horsemen that can attack air units. I usually place my archers in my base for defence, and my cavalries for offence.
