The Heroes I screen was straightforward and easy to use (that's really all you need after a couple dozens of games). Also, the fact that we saw people in front of the building gave it a little life. The Heroes IV Haven was boring as hell.

What ever happened to "lets wait a week before putting up another evolution poll"? Three in a five day span...

Vote Heroes I
Not as cluttered as some of the other ones.

Vote H1

Nostolgia! :D

And it’s the most colorful of the lot. Though that one seems to be named Necropolis for some odd reason… o_o

3 for me, because I'm most used to it. A little more practice and I'll be able to use it blindfolded :-D

It could be any of the three first, but after some careful consideration H1 got my vote, both because of the reasons Angelspit described, and pure nostolgia, as mentioned by Kareeah Indaga.

And Sauron, when typing the subject of the poll, did you put that R in front of "evolution" intentionally?

H3 for me. The H4 one is too spread out imo, and the H5 one looks like some sort of Lego model you add structures to. H1 and 2 are nice, but they're nothing special.

That was about creature evolutions. :devious:

I like H2 because it reminds me of medieval times. The cathedral is nice and goes together well with the mage guild. And the mountains in the backround add a nice atmosphere.

I like the castle of H5, but everything outside the moat looks so generic and even silly.

Unless cities are living species, they cant't evolve.
Revolution on other hand is totally different thing :D

Could somebody please scale down the H5 pic a bit? Just so that it fits on a single page? Please.

H3 for me! the way the portal watches over the city from the sky is just spectacular. I love this town just for that!
H5 is again stupid. why would the jousting arena would be stuck 50 stories high and not on land. poor horses, must go up and down all those stairs every time a hero needs them.. :disagree: (at least the farm is on land though.. ;) )

I'm really sorry for being an smarta55 here, but this Caladont thing did something to me.

Evolution:
1. A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form. See Synonyms at development.
2.
a. The process of developing.
b. Gradual development.
Revolution:
2. The overthrow of one government and its replacement with another.
3. A sudden or momentous change in a situation
I rest my case :)

According to your definitions, I think "evolution" would be the right word here. The design of the towns is a gradual change into something different, even if it's not something better (because we all know that H2 rocks them all, and the DL's thread summary proves it. :proud: )

The cities are not revolting as I mentioned in the necro town thread, and the second definition is pretty vague and could apply to anything.

Voted 1, looked genuinely like a town unlike the just tactical buildings of 4. 5 seems a little over the top to me, and 2 and 3 looked pretty good, but when i think of the faction of "Knight" or "Haven" a picture of the homm1 town will come to mind.

Vote Heroes 5. A castle should be big, and it should shelter all the important structures within. This isn't what the other versions have done (why not just siege the castle while razing all the buildings, then leaving?).

Hmm, i agree that the homm5 castle is great when you have it built up and it it a stronghold, but when its just a little town with just farms and an archery range, 5's castle looks a little ridiculous.
