Okay, before you hit me hard, I know this will go against everything most people wishes to have.
I think that the H4 special heroes classes are really cool, and it would be nice to have something similar in H5 as well.
Then I realized that there are actually specialized heroes in H5 (I'm not referring to the spec creature heroes, as they do not worth a word).
The only thing is that they have that special abillity, then you can almost always develop their skills as you wish, which makes them again generic/not-very-specialized.
So my thought is that these spec heroes should have a locked development tree in terms of skills and abilities, and you can only choose which skill/ability comes sooner.
And as I said, most people wouldn't like such a lack of freedom, there should be a LOCK button when you start the game or hire the hero, that would lock/unlock this development tree.
So any idea whether it can be done? Or rather whether it should be done at all?
My guess is that the locked dev tree can be easily implemented, but the lock button can be difficult.
If some people like the idea, I will try to work on it.
bye,
syllogz

Toto, I have a feeling we are not in Kansas anymore!
Okay. It seems that most people are waiting for the patch or chatting with the Slayer, and didn't jump to my bait...
I'll post some examples for real RPG characters:
Markal:
- Necro
- Leadership > Diplomcy (?)
(These are the starting ones)
- Dark Magic (a must have)
- Offense > Archery (for the Skeleton Archers:))
Then, because he seems to be an educated gentleman:
- Enlightment > all 1st level abilities
- Sorcery > all 1st level abilities
Isabel:
(I don't remember what she starts with)
- Counterstrike
- Defense
- Offense
- Logistics
Then I would add Light and Dark Magic only because of the story.
The only problem with that that Isabel is such an ignorant b****, so that leaves with
- Leadership
- WarMachines
Okay, it's a bit rough, but that's what she deserves:)
Sylvan hero with +2 % XP/levels:
- Avenger
- Enlightment
(these are the starting ones)
Now the question is whether he got the XP bonus because of good fighting or good thinking.
Fighting:
- Offense > Tactics, Archery
- Defense
- WarMachines
- Luck.
Thinking:
- Luck (he's elven)
- Offense > Tactics, NO Archery
- Sorcery > all 1st level abilities
- Summoning Magic
Dungeon heroine with Dark Ritual bonus:
I don't remember her starting skills, but she must be good at performing rituals and magic:
- Elemental Vision
- Enlightment
- Sorcery
- Summoning Magic (as this one envolves more rituals)
- Defense (just like a good druid)
I have no idea for the last one, but let's say it is Dark Magic, because that's involved in the name:), and it uses rituals sometimes.
That's it for now.
I'll try to come up with some more Might oriented heroes next time.
