We all played HOMM V for some time and it's time to choose your favorite faction.
Do you think that with the balance patch (planned who knows when) your preferences will change?

Voted Academy....
but this decision didn't need "some time", since H2 wizards are my all time faves.... but in this game Sylvan caught quite up with them (if the Avenger special skill was more comfortable to use maybe they'd be on par with Acad. ) .
p.s. minor typo i've encountered very often, i think the castle faction is spelled "Haven" instead of "Heaven" .

I voted for Dungeon.
Haven is cheap.
Necro is cheap.
Inferno is fragile.
Sylvan is too might oriented compared to H II. (my personal taste, it just doesn't feel right).
Academy has some crappy units even bolstered by artifacts.
But warlock is about right. I like empowered spells. And some day if I can master the skill chart I might get chains.

Sorry for the "Heaven" mistake. I just typed so fast I didn't notice.
My vote is really split all factions have some pros and cons.
It's a hard decision but overall Inferno is the best for me.

Users if you ARE offended with the gargoyle looks just use the Gargoyle skin. From the Modding SectionDaemianLucifer wrote:Nah.But you are a minority.omegaweix wrote: Am i the only one around here who is not offended by the look and feel of the gargoyles?

I find it amusing when the gargoyles hit with their stone slab.
I meant more power wise.
The Djinn die like flies (and the ai target them), and they don't even shoot or have possibility of killing a percentage of enemies.
The gargoyles come in great numbers, but I find them inconsequential in determing battle outcomes no matter the stage of the game.
Gremlins and golems are fine. Rakshasa and titans are powerful. I like the mage graphics and animations a great deal. The unit has it's strengths and weakness but overall is pretty solid.
The faction is fine and probably my second favorite but there you see my thoughts.

I must say I'm impressed. It seems that the game has a real balance. Just look at the votes. For now all factions are tied ;D.

Dungeon is the best 4 me
I have voted for Dungeon and always will.
Powerfull spells, good heroes, outstanding army (at my oppinion best lv1, lv2, lv5, lv6 and finaly lv7 army in the game).
But the summoning spells, and my favorite conjure Phoenix with high spell power wins every battle. When you conjure one with around 1600 HP, attack arund 150, deffence around 110, damage some 500-700 and initiative 15, what else is left to say.
Black Dragons forever.
Luckz...

Dudes!
Your all a bunch of noobs! Warlock is ok but their units cost an arm and a leg and you get very little of them. As for empowerment and their heroes it's direct damage noob strategy. I like necro because you have to think to be them. Haven is also very well rounded.

I like the gargoyles right now. Pretty unique and the fact that a flying tombstone is delivering death is pretty ironic.omegaweix wrote:Am i the only one around here who is not offended by the look and feel of the gargoyles?PhoenixReborn wrote: Academy has some crappy units even bolstered by artifacts.
