God of War

Unread postby asandir » 14 Jul 2006, 00:28

now what do people think of this game??

i thought it was brilliant, a bit short, but thoroughly enjoyable

brought a bunch of great ideas and some new ones together and made a stellar game, with an amazing storyline (how rare is that?)

so now i am looking forward to the sequel, should be excellent

EDIT: is it apt that my post rank changed to minotaur with this very post???

Excellent game: great graphics, great gameplay = spectacular scenes.

I'll remember the fight with the giant Minotaur forever B-). Same for the 3-headed Hydra... definitelly an intense gaming experience.

Plus the puzzles are not boring as usual in these games, I'd say it's quite a perfect game. It's just that you can't finish it in the hardest mode (well, I can't).

Didn't know about a sequel, is it just your wish or has it been announced ?

Before bagging the consoles TT, try this game, it is just so damn good!!!

and yes the sequel is announced, on PS2 no less, and dated at Feb 2007, it's one all decent gaming sites ....

the battle with the giant minotaur was CRAZY!!! it really needed some awesome combo craziness, an enormous sense of accomplishment when he is finally staked!!

God Mode was (IMO) impossible, i was getting smashed by just about everything, right from the start, so i decided to complete the challenge of the Gods to get a new costume (they have pretty cool bonuses attached to them) to assist me, but after completing the CotG, I found out that you can't use costumes in God Mode!!!???

no i mean one of those people who chose not to buy a console and then miss some great titles, cause they are pc only gamers (with maybe some handheld for good measure)

i'm not saying this is bad, but it does cut your options a bit, i agree that consoles can be a bit limited in lifespan, but then so is your video card!

My current video card is over a year old.And my sound card is even older. My monitor is over 5 years. When I buy things I choose the ones that are going to last me quite enough. The only thing recent on my current computer is the keyboard and mouse, and those are some 4,5 months old.I use my computer for internet, and for some occasional work as well, not just for games. Its a tool as well as a funbox. Its also a TV and a stereo to me.If I both a stereo,a TV,a console and just one internet computer separately,it would cost me way way more.Besides,I havent found a single console game that can compare to starcraft, fallout, civilization, heroes or even unreal tournament.I dont feel like Ive missed anything worthy.

and that's cause you haven't tried them

but my point was not about the whole PC, just the video card, the console (by the time i get it) is about $AUS300, which is equivalent to (in today's market) maybe a 7800GS or maybe a x800GTO, so not really new at all, now the console normally lasts me 5 years or so, and the gfx card is not gonna do that, if i want to play even reasonably newish games, sure it doesn't do word processing, or photo editting, and that why i compared only to the cost of a video card, the single most important part of teh pc where games are concerned

neither gaming mag nor tv show will be able to show how good a game is .... and certainly you could play on a mate's console .... it's certainly cheaper, but for games that require time investment (oh, let's say Final Fantasy) this would probably not work

now regardless of anything i say, there will be plenty of people who aren't interested in consoles, or the games on them, but I contend that some of these games are so good that it would be "worth it" to at least have a look at them
