Carmagedon
Roaring of the mighty engine,smell of burning gasoline,and blood sprayed over your windshield!Is there anything better? One of the very rare inovative game,a race where your goal is to smash your opponents into tiniest bits,and to kill innocent bystanders.Played both parts,and I never finished a single race regulary(go through the checkpoints),although I did finish one by killing all of the zombies(not a special mission in carmagedon 2,but one regular race in part one).My favourite car vas vlads rocket in part one.As for part two,I usually drove some heavy machinery,fully upgraded of course

I humbly present to you Death Race 2000!DaemianLucifer wrote: One of the very rare inovative game,a race where your goal is to smash your opponents into tiniest bits,and to kill innocent bystanders.
Carmaggedon was quite a fun game, there's nothing like running amok with a vehucle in the middle of a mob of squishy little humans. Too bad they made them green blooded zombies in the second one.* Male adult: 30
* Male teenager: 40
* Male infant/toddler: 70
* Female (any age): +10 point bonus
* Senior citizen (regardless of gender): 100
Of course i never did really care about actualy completing missions, just squashing people, so i never did finish either of them.

Actually, there were no zombies in the 2nd one Titan. That was in the 3rd game, which was terrible becuase you almost had to complete the race by finishing the laps. It really ruined the game by stripping your freedom to either destroy your opponent's cars or kill every single pedestrian on the map. Nothing quite as satisfying as hitting a person on a roof, having them cling to your hood, and then hitting the brakes to send them flying to their death. It was good, sadistic fun for the whole family!
And whilte the rocket car was nice DL, it was no suppressor. Nothing like hitting a little car with a 6 wheeled assault vehicle and sending it flying into the atmosphere.

Oh man I loved those games
Mad Max face when you did a tight turn, the police tank car that you couldn't possibly defeat and ofcourse, all the pedestrians you could kill
I normally went down some mainstreets on the place where pedestrians walk and kill dozens of'em. Then in the end I made a braketurn (sp?) and killed a few more and got awarded some style points.
You know that Carmageddon 4 is on its way? Can't wait to drive over people in glorious 3D with pixelshaders
Other games that are like Carmageddon are Twisted Metal and Vigilante 8. Love them both but they're console games

Funny,but I think they were zombies in C2,though with red blood.I seem to remember that they were going "gah" and stuff like that.Omega_Destroyer wrote:Actually, there were no zombies in the 2nd one Titan.
Actually you could.I had solid granit car once and pounded that tank until it blew up.Also,once I threw it into the mine field(very late in the game)and killed them like that.But I still needed a lot of repaires after that one.Campaigner wrote:Mad Max face when you did a tight turn, the police tank car that you couldn't possibly defeat and ofcourse, all the pedestrians you could kill

Actually the first version of the game had humans with red bloods, but with all kinds of pressure coming from conservative political groups and parties, they changed it to zombies with a patch, and the repacks of the first game always had green zombie blood..
Other games never had humans, they always had zombies; but fanmade patches allowed humans and red blood...
I remember Iron Maiden was featured in Carmageddon II, I guess the spot was on 'Bring your daughter to the slaughter', which unfortunately is one of the worse Iron Maiden songs; not that most people that played Carmageddon hadn't heard of the band...

I think the non-American versions of the first two had zombies, but the American versions didn't have zombies anywhere in it. The first game had "living" sprites and the 2nd had 3D people, but none of them were zombies. They also had red blood in both games. Carpocalypse Now (Carmaggedon 3) had the purplish zombies with green blood.
