In a recently opened "questions to developers" <a href="/http://forums.nival.com/rus/showthread. ... >thread on the Heroic Corner forums, Nival has answered some Heroes V questions. The answers are as follows:

The first patch will be out soon™.

The Russian version of the patch will be 39 MB big.

The map editor will be released no later than August.

The random map generator will appear after the editor.

It is possible that combined artifacts will be introduced.

The possibility to load/quit during a battle will be added soon™.

A more detailed manual with gameplay mechanics is in development, it will be available as a free download soon™.

New maps will be in the second patch, soon™.

The first patch will make it possible to play over a segmented network, but a direct IP patch isn't yet planned. They'll consider it if they get spammed with requests to implement it.

Soon... Mmm... I remember 'soon' in the 3do dictionary
I have probably offended you in this post. if you take it too harshly, it's your own responsability. I, for my part, never intended to.

August seems too long a time for something as crucial as a map editor. Ouch!

Yeah, I'd like that too... Gives the battle an extra strategic side.

A segmented network is a network where computers are organized into smaller networks (segments) so that computers in a segment can communicate with each other directly, but computers in different segments must communicate through a gateway.

With dial-up 39 megs is about 8 hours with dial up.8 hours of phone call isnt cheap at all.The patch should be free for all the fans, right? And considering that it wont fix everything, and that there will be at least one more(my guess is at least five)of the same size, that is quite a lot.
