First of all congratulation to all finns out there for finally winning the Eurovision song contest. I didn't imagine that almost all countries gavethat high points (i guess most of those that did not had no public voting). For Nordic and Eastern sure, but i misjudged the rest. ROFL. Good show.
Considering also Lithuanias high place with their "we are the winners", IMO this contest showed nicely how bored people are of all those pop lovestories. Guess how many alternative bands are showing up next year?

THAAAAANKSSS!!! And special thanks for your 12 points aswell! For the previous 50 times you (our eastern neighbours) have actually been the only ones giving us any points.. I never believed this day to come, actually we have a saying in Finland that certain place, mentioned in the song also, will freeze before we will win Eurovision song contest. I´m totally shocked!
Ps. My guess is 24 alternative bands (and it´s about time).

Congratulations to Finland. You really deserved to win, just for being different than all the young chicks with almost no clothes and even less flair for singing.
My guess is, that there will be 5 or 6 hard rock bands next year
My wife thinks, that maybe Eurovision will switch to jury voting again after this years contest

*LOL* Thank you (for the 12 points & congratulations)! Now time to see dreams about rock´n roll angels. Everyone here will think in the morning that they saw just a wish-dream about the result (it´s that unbelivible), so there will be plenty of morning coffees spilled over the newspaper (or on lap if you are unlucky) when the cover-headlines are read. Good night.Paulus1 wrote:My wife thinks, that maybe Eurovision will switch to jury voting again after this years contest

Two or three traditional ones would be OK. Occasionally you need time for bringing new beers or empting yourself.Ps. My guess is 24 alternative bands (and it´s about time).

So, does anyone have a link or something to check out the winners?

Country after country gave 12 points to Finland. I WAS SHOCKED.
I mean I never expected that people would like to see a band like Lordi to win the Eurovision.
When I saw Lordi competing I thought "These Finns are crazy people!"
Anyway, I'm really glad that Finland won.
CONGRATULATIONS FINLAND. You rock.
Rock'n'roll angels bring down hard rock hallelujah!

Thanks & yes, that kind of "wardrobe malfunctions" + singing on underpants or in a skirt that is actually a shirt, has become so OBVIOUS that it´s irritating.Justice wrote:hopefully this will kick all the mainstream and big boops out of the contest...
No question about that. In the previous model of the competition we used to blaim our "different" mother tongue of the "0-point after another" unsuccess, before you guys won the whole thing (that was a nice "stop whining" -factor)!Pitsu wrote:I think not only finns had that saying. I like the Lithuanian song but what was people's problem at that show? All the buhing (damn, don't know how that's spelled ). That was so respectless and lame...
I just don't know why they hated Lithuania so much?

Perhaps they missed the intended humour in the lyrics.Milla aka. the Slayer wrote:Congratulations Finland from Denmark and me

I found the song boring and repetitive, but liked that it was different.
